When you first heard about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," you probably thought it was a spoof. Alas, it's the real deal: the history/horror flick opens nationwide today.

"The way I see it, whatever else it is, it's a huge summer movie that is, for a change, not a sequel, a prequel, a reboot, a remake, based on a toy, a video game, or a board game," author, screenwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith told CBS. "And that's where I come in and make my case of, like, 'Hey, let's do something strange. Let's do something offbeat, a little daring. Let's get back to doing cool genre films.'"

So far, however, the film only has a 36 percent rating on RottenTomatoes.com. "Don't let the stupid title dissuade you from seeing 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' Let the stupid plot, the stupid history, the stupid action scenes, the stupid trivializing of slavery," gripes the The New York Post. However, The Washington Post calls it, "Both terribly silly and a lot of fun."

We have to say: This one sounds just weird enough to be somewhat interesting. From "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" to "The Twilight Saga," click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the best vampire movie?

Well, I read the Abe Lincoln book long before the movie was made and for that, it will always hold a special place for me. However, as true Vampire movies go, Interview With the Vampire does take lots of slices of the cake if not the whole thing.

Really? I know it had Keanu in it, but Gary Oldman in "Dracula" more than made up for that incompetence. And it's freaking Dracula!

I thought Bram Stoker's Dracula was excellent and stayed true to the book for the most part. Gary Oldman played an excellent Dracula.

I agree, especially since the book is relatively inaccessible in it's writing style. Gary Oldman is just fantastic no matter what he does. He's just one of those actors that can make a movie better just by being associated with it.

Good to see some who feels the same way about this movie that I do. Despite Keanu's ineptitude as an actor he couldn't derail this movie. When Keanu has limited lines in an action movie he is pretty good, he needs to recognize this.

I really liked Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter--I saw it last night. It was awesome in 3D! Out of this list, really only "Underworld" and "Queen of the Damned" are good films, aside from "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." "Interview with the Vampire" sucked big time because of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt playing the lead roles.

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in the first of the Vampire Chronicles by Ann Rice. I've read them all and they would make an awesome series of movies! I've loved vampire books and movies for 50 years! The Count Yorga movies were pretty bad.

I haven't actually seen the movie, but I picked it because I love the TV series and the TV series is better than what I've seen of the options for this poll.

Had Blade been on the list, I would've picked it. (I hate vampires, though.)

Near Dark is definitely one of the best (I did include it, but grouped in the "among others" section).

Hopefully folks skimming this thread will be inspired to see these (much better) movies. Near Dark was one of those flicks that didn't get a lot of attention even when it came out, though it's a deserving "cult classic."

Van Helsing is better for action.
Anything is better than Twilight... terrible actors, terrible writers, and awful special effects (at least in the first movie, the only one I saw)
