Somebody must have realized that they could cash in on that controversial Time magazine cover. TV production company Collins Avenue (makers of "Dance Moms" and "American Stuffers," is developing a reality show about mothers who breastfeed older children, the New York Post reports.

The health benefits of breastfeeding (for mom and baby) are well known, with most doctors recommending exclusive breastfeeding for at least the first six months of a child's life and then breastfeeding while supplementing with food for at least the second six months. The World Health Organization encourages nursing until at least age 2.
But somehow, the sight of a mom breastfeeding a child over two tends to freak people out, even though the medical advice is mixed on when you "should" stop. "Experienced pediatricians realize that the benefits of breastfeeding don’t just magically disappear after one year," Karen McGratty, a lactation consultant who is nursing her 3-year-old son, told the Post.
"I didn’t set out to nurse a 3-year-old," mom Jessica Cary told the Post. "But two years came and went. Now breastfeeding and mothering are so intertwined for me." Are you interested in learning more about moms who can't give up breastfeeding? Or not in the slightest?

Honestly if the mother wants to continue breastfeeding her child she has every right to, in my mind. She's the mother and can raise her child how she wants, even if most people think it should stop. If you aren't the parent I don't think you have a say.
Wow, does she ever sport a pair of "hangers".
You can only live off of milk--even mother's milk--for so long before other nutrients will be needed. There's really no value in it at that point, especially if they eat nothing else.
Then it's only preventing them from receiving other nutrients that older children will need to develop into adolescence
I remember my first one & we attended prenatal classes so he could attend the birth. we had just gone into the Snack bar on post and seen the woman who talked for the La Leeche group there. She and her son sat at a table across from us...he ate his burger the got up , walked over lifted her shirt and unhooked the cup and helped himself. I can remember thinking AW HELL NO!!
Isn't there something better we can use TV for? Like maybe for some fear mongering, distraction, propaganda, and brainwashing.......Oh...that's right--- that's already what its used for in America.
