Last week, Clint Eastwood stunned viewers of the Republican National Convention when he launched into a dialogue with an invisible President Obama sitting in an empty chair. Mitt Romney supporters clearly thought they were delivering an A-list actor to fire up the crowd and show that Hollywood was behind the presidential nominee, but the bizarre conversation seemed to have the opposite effect. Instead, some say Eastwood stole Romney’s fire, and others think he just came off looking like a rambling fool.
Everyone who watched was left wondering if the other guys would try to capitalize on the strange event by pulling a similar stunt this week at the Democratic National Convention. Peter Slutsky of Brooklyn, N.Y., has even gone so far as to create a petition on Change.org. He wants to score Betty White an invitation to introduce President Obama at the DNC.

Slutsky has reasons beyond politics for the idea. As he states on the petition, “Clint Eastwood, the Republican's ‘mystery guest’ at the RNC, gave a bad name to older Americans everywhere with his absurd and awkward-to-watch introduction of Governor Romney.” If Slutsky gets his way, Betty White could do some good for Democrats and the elderly in one fell swoop. He’s already got over 8,000 signatures and is hoping to reach a goal of 10,000. What do you think: Should Betty White spoof Clint's empty chair speech?
Of course, their idea to boo God and Israel was certainly original ... don't think the repubs will be copying that idea any time soon.
White doesn't need props to get a laugh or make a point.
