Rapper 50 Cent (né Curtis Jackson) was hospitalized on Tuesday after being involved in a car accident. According to his official website, Jackson's bullet-proof Chevy Suburban was rear-ended by a Mack Truck driven by a 61-year-old man. Lindsay Lohan also collided with a semi a few weeks ago, but that was her fault. There was nothing 50 Cent could do about this one.

Jackson's SUV nearly flipped over on impact, but fortunately he and his driver escaped with minor injuries. The man responsible for the accident claims the load in his truck shifted and caused him to lose control of the vehicle, just as traffic suddenly slowed ahead of him. 50 Cent was placed on a stretcher and transported to a Queens hospital, where he was treated for back and neck injuries.

I drive a "big rig" semi for a living, some people have no respect for our size and the amount of weight we are hauling, there should be no need for people to be nervous as long as you remember we can not always see you and we need allot more room to stop than you.So don't hang out along side us and do not cut in front of us and you will be fine..usually.

There were a few horror flicks with demonic big rigs that kept me on the edge of my seat. They make me very nervouse when driving log distances at night.

Sometimes they do make you a little wary, cause they sometimes do sway. I always keep in mind that they are bigger than my car and I give them a lot of room.

Only when they are tailgating. This is a condition that should at least bring a charge of making terroristic threats. Should be considered more serious then road rage, A professional driver should drive that way as a true professional...

Just too many of them on the road. Then they pass each other-why- to block traffic? What ever happened to transporting trailers by rail? Go 10 mph over speed limit and stay in the right lane 100 yards apart. Then go after the idiot car weaving drivers. Load, lock, fly. Keep pace. Be courteous. Everybody.

Riding Motorcycles taught me to ride and drive defensively with full attention + courtesy and to always anticipate and never take anything on the road for granted. And what target fixation leads to.

Not at all! I can drink this Jack Daniels, eat this fistful of meth with the mescaline thrown in to mellow it out and still drive my rig safely. Just somebody help me get up in the cab!
Huh! You mean drive around other people rigs in a car? What are you? Nuts or sunthin'?

NOTE: THIS IS SARCASM. DON'T FIREBOMB ME!!!!
I never drove a rig, or anything else for that matter under the influence of anything!

I'm super cautious around big rigs...they do make me nervous since there's so many blind spots and those guys and gals are sometimes driven to the ground trying to make their load at the next stop. I know it must be a tough job...

They are big but if you respect that size there is nothing to be afraid of; I live in the UK and tow a caravan, what really pisses me off is when someone cuts in front then brakes. My rig is 40 feet long and weighs 3.5 tonnes, I have normal car brakes, so dont expect me to stop it on a dime.

I am especially wary of rock haulers. More accidents involve them than any other kind of truck due to shifting loads. But having said that, in the Dallas area we have had turned over big rigs, on fire big rigs, multivehicle accidents with big rigs on a daily basis. They too often drive fast and take highway turns and interchanges at outrageous speeds. I35 north of Denton is one of the scariest stretches of highway near me. I 20 in East Texas near Tyler is also a speedway where trucks go way way over posted speeds. And nobody stops them NOBODY.

When I drive next to them on the highway, I speed up to get away from them as quickly as possible. My aunt was nearly killed when a semi's straps broke and her car narrowly avoided tons of metal falling to the road.

I go to a university about 4 hours away from home. And coming home every so often, I have to use the interstate, which can be scary enough at such high speeds. But as many others stated, they can't always see us. I drive a Jetta which is a pretty small car compared to most, so I understand it being hard to see cars like mine. A couple people mentioned to just stay out of their blind spots or to not drive beside them, but we can't always help it, especially if there is traffic or the person in front of us is going slow. I know I already have driving anxiety, but I always speed up to pass them when I'm beside them, and some switch lanes as soon as they turn their signals on so I never know when they might try to get over.

They're just scary to be next to. It's not because I think the drivers are bad.

Yes, because I drive a little car and it can be intimidating to get next to one of those big boys. I know it is harder for them to see me so I try to scurry by them so it won't be a problem. Trucking cannot be an easy job and with the way some of us lack in driving skills and just plain common sense, we make their job even harder.

Most big rig drivers are fine. Every once in a while, however, one will pull up right behind someone to try to force them to drive faster, or suddenly cut over in front of you in the left lane to stop you from passing. Reckless and bullying driving is dangerous enough with a normal auto, and much more so with a big rig. The reckless and bullying big rig drivers make it necessary to take extra care around big rigs.

They make me nervous for a couple reasons. One, the driver could have been on the road for hours without a sleep break. Two, there blind spots are so large that even the best driver probably misses certain things in their travels Three, a slight mistake in a big rig could prove more dissastrous than a mistake in a smaller vehicle.

Passing a semi truck doesn't make me anymore nervous than passing a driver that is using a cell phone or texting... Fact I trust the truck drivers more than most drivers out there..

I was once rear-ended by a woman using a cell phone. When I walked back to her car to speak to her she said, would you mind keeping quiet I am on the phone. So I said OK just dont interupt me while I call the cops.

Some of the most rigorously trained & most highly tested drivers on our roads are truckers so no, I am not at all worried about truck drivers as long as I am not doing something stupid (like cutting them off, tailgating, straddling the line, etc).

The things that DO make me nervous on the road are drivers talking/texting/social networking on mobile phones, drunk drivers & the elderly who should have given up driving last decade!

Not usually. But every once in a while you come across a jerk. Fortunately , not nearly as often as you find a jerk behind the wheel in a car.
