My son and i were just talking about another case like this a few days ago.. we were talking about how some people that are ADD or ADHD also have periods of hyperfocus where they block out everything else and focus on just one thing for long periods of time. I do it with books for example and he does do it with games but I know he does it so i keep an eye on him to make sure he stops and gets breaks for food and sleep etc.

Most people don't get addicted to games, usually playing them for fun whenever they have time. This person, however, was an idiot. I'd hate to make fun of a recently deceased person, but he did it to himself. If he had just slept, ate and drank regularly, he would've been fine.

Just yesterday I turned off my teenagers Sims game, he had been on it all day yesterday and had started on it again today. I cut that crap off. His eyes were blood shot, its crazy.

My brother and I laughed for about 10 minutes after reading this. I mean, what happened to the kid wasn't funny, plus I'm a big gamer also, but it sounds like what my mom used to think was going to happen to my brother.

I'm not certain if quitting would cause "severe trauma," but I'm willing to bet it would.
