About Me
I am an atheist, but I'm very willing to listen to other's views and accept people for who they are. I try to be as kind and open-minded as possible. If, however, you choose to be rude towards me, I will refrain from conversations as best as possible or attempt to mediate the situation. If there is some misunderstanding between us, I will be very willing to clear up any issues as best as possible.
Furthermore, yes I am quite liberal and I believe in the power of equality, love, and respect. If you wish to discuss politics, do so in a respectful manner and I will do the same. I will never resort to insults (or at least not do it intentionally). I'm sorry if I offend, but that is not my purpose at all. I just want people to be openminded and accepting.
Here is some other info about me:
---I'm a pre-med student who is planning on becoming a forensic pathologist (the most disgusting job in healthcare!)
---I'm an anthropology minor.
---I have an optimisitc attitude and just love to live life. I don't see the worth in worrying over things I cannot control.
---I may be a liberal, but personally, I have quite conservative morals.
---I love music, plain and simple. Rarely will you find me without music playing or without my iPod nearby.
---I play the drums and the guitar primarily, but also play flute, piano, and Irish tin whistle.
---I'm what you would label as straight edge. In fact, I have never even tasted alcohol and have no interest in doing so. No drugs....good luck getting me to even take a Tylenol lol.
-- I love to shoot guns. I was trained by a police officer and have great aim because of it. Fave: AR-15
---I'm somewhat of a secular humanist.
---I love animals in general.
---If you wish to know more, feel free to ask! :-)

I love to snowboard, play the drums and the guitar. I'm always up for a good debate, but if it solely consists of bashing each other, it's not worth it. And of course, music in general. I'm really interested in languages and cultures. I love my Native American and Irish heritage.
This playlist contains some of my faves and other random songs, all in no particular order. It's certainly not a comprehensive list of artists and songs that I like. :-)

Author Unknown-- Some pursue happiness - Others create it.
Francois de La Rochefoucauld-- "We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves."
Cal Thomas-- "No country can be truly 'Christian,' only people can. God is above all nations and, in fact, Isaiah says that 'All nations are to him a drop in the bucket and less than nothing'."
Justin Sane--"One of the things that I think to myself, what’s so wrong and what’s so antiestablishment with the idea of wanting peace, why is that anti-establishment? Why is wanting to be told the truth antiestablishment? These aren’t antiestablishment ideas; these are pro-fucking-peace ideas!”
Anti-Flag-- "We pledge allegiance to our flags. Pieces of cloth that cloak our daggers. Material that is immaterial to our humanity. That divides us but never unites us. Patriotism is nationalism is jingoism. As long as we idenitfy by country we will never know who the other is."
Mark Z. Danielewski (from House of Leaves) -
"Little solace comes
to those who grieve
when thoughts keep drifting
as walls keep shifting
and this great blue world of ours
seems a house of leaves
moments before the wind."
Ayn Rand - "So you think that money is the root of all evil. Have you ever asked what is the root of all money?"
Sinclair Lewis - "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross."
Kurt Vonnegut - "We could have saved the Earth but we were too damned cheap."
Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antonious Agustus - "Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

Technically, we should be equal because there are incredibly smart men and women alike (as well as incredibly stupid men and women). However, I'm biased as a female and want to say women are smarter :-)
Can I ask why the photo for "MEN" is a guy in a business suit and the one for "WOMEN" is a photo of women scantily clad? Why not a woman in work attire?

I am a firm believer in keeping marijuana illegal. A past experience while on duty with the police dept. confirmed this belief. However, Tylenol certainly isn't as safe as people claim it to be. It causes serious liver damage and. since there's a presumption that it's safe, people take too much of the medication too often. (more)

haha, and you can always leave her in a corner if she gets too whiny. Good practice for those kids you're not going to have lol.

Back at you honey!!
The Wicke...
I probably did read it, but with so much info flying in and out of my head right now I don't really retain any of it lol.
Going to the concert all depends on when it is for me, cause I'm still planning on going to Ireland this summer if I can get the mulah. but if not, then DEFINATELY!!!!!
The Wicke...
hah, i know how you feel. About an hour after i posted that I got another request from a girl I was a total bitch to. I feel bad about it, but I really don't want to accept just because the last time I talked to her she called me out on never wanting to be around her. I don't need the guilt right now. It's over and done and there is nothing I can do about it. Especially since i'm pretty sure she's exactly the same now.
The Wicke...
OMV! I just got a friend request on facebook from the younger sister of a guy I went to middle school with and haven't talked to in at LEAST 3 years!
What do these people do, sit on their computer with their freaking yearbooks and see if people answer?
The Wicke...
Good gods! how long does yours have to be? I at least had one paragraph done before I got online lol.
I have had 2 waffles today, which made me want to watch lord of the rings "second breakfast" and all that.
The Wicke...
Can I PLEASE kill whoever decided that college students need to write really long-ass papers in order to improve their minds? PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Btw, do papers make you extremely hungry? I ate at 10 and now i'm starving!
The Wicke...
I have no idea. All I know is that he posted on his twitter that he was alone and single.
I'm not sure if I like his hair or not. It's interesting, but it's not the strify we've known. But it's not bad!
The Wicke...
Tat poll? haha it took me a minute to figure out what the hell you were saying.
k i'll email it.... NOW!
The Wicke...
Well, it was originally published as a paper given at an assembly or something like that. But it's quite annoying that no one thought to translate for us non-accomplished-in-many-lang... college students.
Gah. I have 700 words, and have no idea what else to say. As it is this is probably the worst paper I have ever written, it doesn't even make sense to me. Probably cause I'm not writing the same thing as what all my sources say, but I'm taking the opposite view. very annoying. I have a lot of fragments that don't really fit anywhere and I can't seem to find what I need in order to get a full paragraph out of my freaking ideas!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway. if you have the time you should get on messenger and read it for me lol.
The Wicke...
Well, its more the author is quoting some other book that was written in German, so it makes sens that way, but why the hell couldn't he have put translations in the footnotes???
Okay, it's "Between Republic and Empire: Interpretations of Augustus and His Principate" edited by Kurt A. Raaflaub and Mark Toher. Heh, i'll leave my sticky notes in there with the translations lol. Help anyone else who doesn't know what the F he's talking about.
The Wicke...
yeah, i got the gist of it from translator.com lol. Actually, the book is from your school. You should check it out when you get the chance and you'll see what I mean. :D
The Wicke...
Oh, and another great thing is that one of the best secondary sources I have for this paper has sections entirely in German, with no translation. It's just wonderful. I DON'T KNOW GERMAN OR LATIN PEOPLE! NEITHER CAN I READ ANCIENT GREEK!
Anyways. I needed to rant to someone and put off actually writing this stupid thing.
The Wicke...
Self-learning can suck my non-existant male appendage. Writing a paper, or your prelabs, is very frustrating and annoying and it makes me, at least, panic a bit cause I'm not sure if what I'm saying is correct.

The Wicke...
Oh wow. I don't think I've ever slept that late lol. I think my latest was 2:30 or so PM.
I'm working on the Res Gestae Divi Augusti and Augustus' constitutional position in 27 BC. It's actually pretty interesting, only Dr. Lowe has this habit of giving us papers that are due before he goes over the material we have to write about. And I have to have some sort of background info on the people involved, the social, economical and political situations at the time and so on before I can actually write anything. So i'm kinda playing catch-up with it all. But I can see where his method makes sense, considering its a freshman level class and I'm sure he doesn't want to read 30 papers repeating his lectures.
Other than the paper, I have no weekend lol. My dad came up today to drop off some insulin that I desperately needed and took me out to lunch. I now have a huge thing of pork fried rice in my fridge waiting for me lol.
The Wicke...
Okay, so I have a new guide-format for papers that needs to get distributed across the college world. Ready for this?
Intro: Tell your reader what you are going to tell them about, without telling them that you are telling them what your paper is about.
1st main point: Second best point. Don't want the reader to get disapointed as the go along.
2nd main point: Worst point, only in there to say that you have 3 main points, but isn't really worth the ink you are spending on it.
3rd main point: Best point. Save the best for last, cause if you don't the reader will assume you have nothing more to say and abandon the paper. If this is your professor, you don't want this to happen.
Conclusion: Take all of your main points, condense them down to a sentance, reword them, and then tell them to your reader again without telling them that it is the same thing they just spend 15-20 minutes reading and that they could have just skipped the body and gone straight to the end for the same information.
Heh, as you can tell I'm feeling a little cynical about papers right now. Anyhoo, how's your weekend going?
The Wicke...
yeah, we knew he wasn't going to last very long, but he was also the first cat I've had that was mostly mine. All the others have been family cats.
The Wicke...
Weasel. We found out he had leukemia right before I came back to school this year. I got a call yesterday morning that it had gotten really bad so I went home last night. He couldn't breathe right, and couldn't even meow. He just kind of made a croaking noise. And he probably lost 3-5 pounds just in the 2 1/2 weeks I've been gone. He couldn't even walk into the house on his own. So we decided that it was time.
The Wicke...
Why thank you. I was looking for something that reflected "me" rather than just hot men lol.
