I try not to hate anyone, but I'll be damned if I can find a way to avoid making people think I am a 'hater' for my inability to express my disdain for those things I detest in people.
I don't idolize and cannot think of anyone in particular that I'd be thrilled to me or go out of my way to see. My only hero was General Douglas MacArthur.
I love sports,especially college football, college basketball, and used to like boxing, but I have grown out of most all of them. I am a couch potato and watch.

You are right that we have dumbed down America and our children are spoiled little brats. I can only speak for myself in saying, that my first children by my first wife have been self reliant and have taken care of themselves and were not the least bit spoiled, but not so with my latest daughter who is now 28 and has THREE college degrees, Political Science, Business, and Journalism, with a minor in Italian, and is NOW enrolled to get her fourth degree. But she is still spoiled rotten and will always be dependent on her parents. The one thing I can be proud of is the fact that she is a very conservative thinking young lady, and is not for all the liberalism of the Obama regime, even though she does embrace a reformed health care system it is not socialistic. Obama was wrong in taking sides with ANYONE, while downing the police, and I'll be damned if he didn't do it again when he invited the Sgt. and the Prof. to the White House for a beer. You see, it was Obama, his vice President, Biden, and Obama's friend, the Professor against Sgt. Crowley! 3 against 1 ! ha.
If that is what Obama calls a 'teachable lesson' then he must have his mentality set on the days of blacks running around in gangs, beating up on white boys, and raping white girls.

Think about it, if you know you are equal to anyone and everyone then why would you even think of an inequality situation existing? The same is true with all Blacks, or other people who refer to themselves as minorities. Being a minority does not make you an inferior person! Trust, what I am telling you here; Obama is NOT trying to take away from the rich and give to the poor. He has some of the richest Jews in this country advising him and IN HIS CABINET ! Greenspan claims innocence, Summers and Emanuel claim they tried to help straighten things out, and Gaithner is supposed to create some kind of magic to get us out of financial chaos by putting us further into hock with his stimulus bailout package. And we the people allow these assholes to shower us with pretty words of endearment and how they are concerned about the American people and they will do everything in their power to help us get back to work, and get back some of the excessive interest that we have paid to the crooked Bankers in the way of increased equity in our homes, etc etc. That is all bullshit. The Jews that run the financial world want to let us all know that THEY AND THEY ALONE ARE IN CHARGE!
For those of you who interpret this as nothing more than a hate speech need to wise up. Why do you think our government came up with the 'Hate Law' to begin with? They damn sure weren't concerned about Gays and Lesbians; it was more like a carbon copy of the Law in Germany whereby anyone heard denying the existence of the Holocaust would be prosecuted and sent to prison. The Jews are the offspring of Satan and they want world domination and are very close to it right now.
Don't be surprised if we find out very soon that Israel has numerous missiles with nuclear warheads aimed at the U.S., Russia, England, and various places around the world that they feel the need to keep under threat of annihilation.
All of this is my own opinion of which I freely express and damn the 'hate law' bullshit!

I think Mark McGwire was on medication for his back pain and that medication could have been a banned substance, but it was a prescription medication and it was necessary to relieve pain, not for the purpose of enhancing his performance. If it indeed, did enhance his performance then hooray for him.
Personally, I think all players use something to make them feel better so they can play from one day to the next. Whether it is Advil, Tylenol, or just plain Aspirin, it is a performance enhancing medication simply because it cures that which is bothering the player; muscle pain, headache, upset stomach, cold, or whatever.
Besides that, I am against rules that forbid the use of performance enhancing drugs if they are properly prescribed by a doctor and not overly done. If the doctor over prescribes medication he/she should be held liable. If the use of these drugs over a long period of time is harmful, then of course that information should be emphasized to the player and if he/she chooses to use it, anyway, then that is their decision.
Everybody tries to equalize themselves in anything that is competitive in nature. Short basketball players have to be able to shoot from a distance quickly before the giant players get under the basket to block their shot. Don't you know that if they were allowed to wear stilts and could get proficient running with them, they would do it!
If you think that one person using steroids is unfair to the other players, because they want to maintain their health, while the 'user' chooses to take the risk, then of course you have to consider the fact that if the steroids were legal then all would have the same choice .
We create our own inequities, by trying to regulate what we do as individuals. There are lots of things that need to be regulated instead of limiting our freedom of choice. (And here, I am only talking about sports and such, not to be confused with condoning abortion.)
In basketball, I think it is highly (no pun) unfair that people that can almost stand flat footed and drop the ball in the basket certainly has the advantage over a 6 foot player. And that is what we should regulate; the height of a player in direct proportion to the height of the basket. What kind of "skill" is it to catch a ball and drop it through a loop?
Slam-dunking a ball for a tall person is NOT SKILL ! It's just showmanship! NOT SKILL!
Likewise, in football, when it is close to the end of the game and the quarterback takes a knee! That should be disallowed. Quite the contrary, the game should be very critical at that juncture for if not for taking a knee, and the offense; forced to snap the ball, could very well make a fumble, the other team, recovers, and runs it back for a touchdown and consequently wins the game. In THAT sense they are playing a FULL four quarters. If they take a knee, the audience is getting cheated and the defensive team is being denied the opportunity to play the full four quarters, and the opportunity to give their offense another shot at winning. I say, DO AWAY WITH TAKING THE KNEE ! I say, LIMIT THE HEIGHT OF BASKETBALL PLAYERS TO 6' 5" NO MORE! Just as we have weight divisions in boxing and wrestling, we should have height limits in basketball.
So, back to the original use of steroids, why should we as spectators care one way or the other? We want to see home runs, touchdowns, accurate passes, outlandish catches, and spectacular leaps, and bounds, so why should we care what the players do to get in shape to please us? I say legalize the steroids! If they have a headache, they can damn sure play the game better if they get rid of it, can't they? Or a back pain? If they can take medication for it, they can damn sure play better can't they? Just because the back medication may have some side effects, so does Tylenol which screws up your Kidneys, and so does Advil, which does a real number on your blood pressure. All medication can cause adverse conditions, and in some cases even worse than the ailment of which they are intended to cure! Chuck Gilliam (more) -

My Dad and my oldest Brother both died of Cancer, and I am 73 and supposedly Cancer Free. I hope that is true,and remains so, but I absolutely refuse to try to fight the inevitable, My attitude is simply this; untold billions of people have died before me and did it very successfully, and if they can do it, so can I. We all have to die of something, or somehow, and while no one, I'm sure, has a death wish, we are all intelligent enough to know that our time is going to come, sooner or later, and if we are aware of it coming sooner than expected, then we must do our 'bucket list' and the sooner we get started the more we're going to enjoy the rest of our life. The heart surgery was a complete success, I think me driving our big dually pickup thru Little Rock after the surgery was proof of that. My husband and I both lived thru it. :) When my little Kayden comes for a visit, it is always a joy to my heart. He is his Grandma's pride and joy. He is strongwilled, bullheaded and very opinionated and I wouldn't trade him for nothin'. He called me one day and told me he couldn't stand Obama and I asked him "Honey, why do you say that?" And his answer was " Because, he's spending my money I haven't even made, yet, Grandma." He loves watching the news, smartest five year old I've ever seen. Sometimes he amazes his Papaw & Grandma and he loves baseball, so I'm grooming him for the Texas Rangers. I think his visit really did alot for his Papaw's recovery. Each day they had a "Gentlemen's Jaunt" so I could get some work done, always a new adventure. Thank you for your kind words. God has seen us thru alot of hard times, so I am always at peace within myself. Jackie Casey

KNOWING THAT YOU ARE MIGHTY NARROW ABOUT RELIGIOUS MATTERS, I WANTED TO TOSS YOU A LINE.
For many folks, religious matters are neatly compartmentalized, stashed over in a corner, and dusted off only on special days. These are those who give “Lip Service” only, to their beliefs.
For some, they are Pomp and Circumstance required by their vision of themselves. These, too, are those who give “Lip Service” only, to their beliefs, with oft negligible exceptions.
Then, there are those who attribute greater importance to their Pomp and Circumstance, and with it carry into their lives Tenets of Belief they deem inviolable (though they are acutely focused on what must be done if they should “inadvertently” trespass).
There are those whose lives are a guidelined quest, seeking answers to what they know not.
Not to mention the ones who are born into an ethnicity they believe to be important, but the heart of which matters they have been blinded from.
Perhaps Finally, there are the ones who believe very deeply, and have touched upon some events and feelings that leave them with an appetite for more. They cannot explain . . . they cannot prove it . . . to you . . . but they “know.” They know to the point of being committed to living their lives in accordance with the Teachings they draw from; admitting freely that they are far from perfect, but not willing to use that imperfection for an excuse to quit. Their Remorse, when they slip into error, is genuine ... ... ... and they view failure as a lesson from which to launch redirection of effort.
People who are not religious may find most or even all of these to be “irksome.” People who may have found themselves somehow “victim” of any religious type may even be enraged toward that type, or even against all types, generally.
My Fellow American, that will not work. That will not lead to any usable answers. That will lead only to more division and hostility.
Perhaps you will resent me saying this, but only you can move to solve this issue in your life. Life throws all sorts of things at us ... ... ... most of which we have little or no control of. More often than not, the only thing we can control is the manner in which we deal with the events, one at a time. It is doubtful that you will ever find a world which agrees with you on all questions and issues, regardless of what anybody might promise; ... ... ... and to varying degrees, every religious person – even those whose religion is the worship of self, will grate upon your sensibilities.
