I'm originally from Ohio and migrated to Los Angeles to work on my brother's film - Another Gay Movie. I work for Stephens Publishing Company, our family business... selling products that say "Stop, Drop, and Roll!" so kids know what to do when their shoes catch fire.

Walton might have been a decent man, but the Wal-Mart of today is destroying our economy, and doesn't care about its employees. The money made at all 'box' stores leaves town, which hurts local economy. I like shopping at local independent businesses.. Each dollar spent is passed through the town an average of 3 times. It's troubling to me, this culture of importing the cheapest products and selling at the cheapest price possible. Everything is pushed to a lowest common denominator. Wages are kept low, products are poorly made.. How about manufacturing locally, make quality and safe products, charge more for them, and pay employees a good wage? Bring everything UP (including quality of life) instead of DOWN. (more)
