I think it's a bit late...won't do any good. There's lots of gas stations still selling and nobody can live w/o the gas .

I don't think individual efforts like this other than a massive number would make much change...However, it just seems that it's not wise for business owners to shutdown their own business opportunities...

I think everyone should decide on one day and not buy anything I mean buy nothing. Just to let em know how much we really control everything. We could say we are fasting for the Earth for one day. If you have to buy your things the day before. I really think the economy is fragile enough that it would really scare the folks in power if just for 24 hours no one purchased anything. Now to just get the whole country behind this idea.

It's an act of despiration on the part of the owners. They're typically the independent owners and are being squeezed out of the market. It won't have an effect by itself, but it raises the visibility of the problem, and maybe someone in power will come up with a solution.

The more the merrier! I think if there is enough decline in oil purchasing, then maybe the chain effects will speak loud enough to the "right people" - and prices may start going down. If that doesn't happen, then maybe people that drive the gas guzzlers, may trade in for more economy safe cars that get better gas mileage. Then I won't have to be afraid of being hit by a ton of steal in my little car.
