    The fact is Home businesses are risky. They require as much if not more time than a business away from home or a regular job and takes alot of self discipline. I'd say your own personal knowledge, research and budget are things to consider when searching for a business of your own...weather at home or elsewhere.

    I agree that home businesses can be risky, but no more so than anything else these days. The truth is that nothing is guaranteed anymore, not even your job. There have been so many articles about long-time corporate types earning $100k+ a year and suddenly being laid off in this current economy. It might be the promise of steady income, but that's all it is - a promise.

    I'd personally rather be involved in something where I am the only one controlling how much I'm able to earn, and how much I have to work. Home businesses, when done right, don't have to take up any more time than you would put into a job or brick & mortar business. However, the benefits & rewards can be so much more than would come from working for someone else.
