And your blaming your lay-offs on Obama. Keep being a conservative !!! Where has it got you for the last 8 years? You don't know that his words are empty ...... I think you should look at the one that just left office and at least give this one a chance.
I haven't blamed Obama for my situation. My situation is of my own creation. I could go look for other work. That's my responsibility. Some companies fail and some are successful, I just think it's funny that the failing companies are getting bailed out. All I am saying is that if my boss is in the 5% of America that is going to get their taxes raised how does that affect those that work for him. Is he going to be able to keep all of his workers while paying higher taxes?
The ironic word "conservative". Fiscally the Republican president Bush has spent far more money than the Democratic President Clinton it is laughable to call him "CONSERVATIVE". It is however an example of the lies we are all sick of hearing from the Republicans who tote the slogan of "Liberal Spenders". The true liberal spender has been George Bush. The enormous hole that has been dug for not only all of America but for the World was by George Bush and his "conservative" spending and regulation policies. So he spent more money and he cut back regulations to allow dishonest money changers handle the retirement money of the baby boomers (to mention just one sector of this disastrous economic policy of George Bush). Conservative....At least when Obama say's we all need to be conservative we understand what he is saying! This President (Obama) is the best thing that could have happened to this country at a time when truth must be faced in order for us to deal with the problems that were created before Obama became president. The worst fallout from the Bush policies have yet to be seen and felt. Obama will likely be blamed but I know it was on Bush's watch...both times that my retirement fund was raided. That impact will not be felt for probably 15 years but believe me in the year 2024...I won't blame my poverty on the sitting president at the time. I know whose "conservative" idea's stole my retirement.
you are a survivor..........take care of your family first........like you always have.......I want to hear HOW much Obama has really donated in terms of money, time, etc. to worthy causes.........I always have donated to people in terms of time, money, and moral support...........always have.........so Obama has NOT come up with any thing new for me.........or a whole lot of others........Hang in there........
With regard to President Obama's donations: he could have taken a prestigious job in a top law firm but instead chose to work with inner city people and help empower them. He has selflessly done more for others then many Americans do for their own families.
Also, the man practiced Constitutional law for 10 years representing those who couldn't afford a lawyer. I trust him to defend the Country and follow the laws set out by the Constitution while doing so.
It is easy to throw money at a cause and feel like the hero but to actually get involved takes a strong, passionate and ethical character.
I agree with JannBanna down there (scroll down)I never thought Hitler was a good speaker. Angry, evil yes. Reagan was good, Churchill was good, Kennedy was good, but Hitler? naw But thanks for your opinion :)
and did you hear the not so suttle hints about how "whites embracing what is right".......
I always have...........I could have done without that type of inspiration.......it is a racial remark..........
First of all let me state that I am so white, I glow in the dark. What Rev. Lowry read was a prayer for the civil rights of all Americans:
"for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right."
I've never seen Black, Brown, Yellow or Red skinned KKK members. How about you? I did however see a documentary last week about the KKK and white surpremist who are going around beating people of other faiths and color, filming it and then promoting it on YouTube.
YOu have missed the point........"whites" will embrace what is right.......the skin color of kkk members is not the issue.........as it is not with the Black Panthers.........
On the contrary....skin color is totally the issue. They are soliciting for the right to be equal in this Country.
I wonder how you would feel if you saw your father, because he was a black man seeking equal rights for himself, his family and all Americans, shot down on the steps of his front porch....remember Edgar Mevers? or watched as your child had his penis cut off and then was hung by the neck while walking home from school by a group of racist teens just because he was black, or watched as your wife was whipped and beaten because she burned her "masters" eggs....remember these people?
No offense intended but it is you my friend who has missed the point.
very arrogant! i'm so sick of him, and the media talking about how he's black and the president, and how far they have come as people.. leaving every other race out of it!!! i thought a long time ago we as a country agreed we were equals... i was taught to see beyond a person's color growing up.. i see a person, and the color of their skin has no relevance to any situation.. well if are all one, and all equal.. quit this damn single every other race out in your speech, in the media...
I thought it was quite good actually. I'm not into politics and I usually think speechs like that are boring, but Obama's pretty good with that. I think he's a witch or something.
But he's a lot better than president Bush with the whole 'talking' thing.

Just my 2 cents
