Netbooks are perfect for older people. Like my grandma, for example, all she ever does on the computer is look at some websites, find some dove coupons, grocery store coupons, check her email, etc. It's just for surfing the net. If you want your computer to have other capabilities, get a laptop! You can't put a CD into the netbook either so don't count on that.

      Compmend
I own a computer consulting firm and I agree with you, I hate them for the exact same reasons and to add another, the features you get for the money are in my opinion not worth it, they usually have very little ram, inadequate hard drive space, and the processors are second class, and the price of laptops has dropped to the point where an entry level laptop is right at the price range and in some cases less (as with the Dell minis) than a mini laptop.

Their screen are small and they are no good for high end games or graphic design.

Netbooks and the like (for the most part)

      Cons: they have no DVDRW
very cumbersome to install software, if at all
      no upgrade path
      unreliable wireless connectivity
small LCDs with awkward and distorted resolutions and aspect ratios.

      Pros: inexpensive
