SQL Injection Attack Steals 130 Million Credit Cards From 7 Eleven: Cash or credit?

imagine2020 August 17, 2009 23:41:16

Albert Gonzales, 28, and two Russian co-conspirators used an SQL injection attack (a simple hacking technique) to steal over 130 million credit and debit card numbers from retailers in the United States. The 7 Eleven chain was heavily targeted by the SQL injection, which penetrates a network's firewalls to steal information.

Albert Gonzales intended to sell the 130 million credit and debit card numbers to buyers worldwide. If convicted, Gonzales will face up to 20 years in jail for wire fraud, five years for conspiracy, and fines up to $500,000.

Do you prefer to carry cash or use a credit card?
I carry cash - SQL injection won't steal my credit card information!
I carry credit or debit cards - I am susceptible to an SQL injection attack
I think Albert Gonzales, who used an SQL injection on 7 Eleven...
You!

I have told the American people this and I will say it again. Get rid of the Credit Cards! They are the most dangerous part of our society, they undermine our individual economic security as well as encouraging a climate of living outside of our means. We must get rid of Credit Cards and the companies which benefit from our demise. Do you what credit card companies call people who pay off their bill every month? Deadbeats.
