Since when are all corporations evil and capitalism bad?

I am really tired of people talking about corporate greed and profits. Since when is profit a bad word? Our economy is based on production and profits. Now, a bunch of politicians have diverted the guilt away from themselves and special interest groups, in the name of social justice, and are putting it on such abstract targets like "greedy CEO's", "greedy Wall Street", and "greedy corporations".

The free market is essential to a free society. Capitalism is what got us here and now you want to throw it all away for which system? Why do you think it's Progressivism when you advocate such regressive systems that have NEVER WORKED and brought pain and suffering as well as death to millions of people?

How many people do these corporations employ, directly and indirectly? How many medical bills to the greedy and corrupt insurance companies pay everyday? Perhaps the only way for people to understand what capitalism does for our country is for all of them to shut down for a week and see how we do. No more greedy grocery stores, oil companies, power companies, cable companies, phone companies, and worst of all no more internet services.

Of course, we'd still have the mail and schools if they could get fuel. I've been through a hurricane with no power and trust me, it's not fun!

Since the right-wing Corporate-Fascist bought their first American President, and class B Actor, Ronald Reagan, and he started the dismantlement of the Constitution, to destroy the middle and working classes. Then Bush 1, and 2 finished the America that was designed by the founding Fathers as a Government of the People, by the People, for the People into a Whack-a-Doodle right-wing Junta by the greedy Capitalist. We can have the Capitalist deal with non-contingency, no-shortage resources, but tightly controlled and regulated. The neo-conservative Bushies demonstrated clearly that the GOP (Greed Over People) are not for America but for Global Economy where only Profit is important. Now we want Social Justice and Humanity over greed and profits. The Conservative-Confederate, Regional Party has been marginalized into a Right-wing Party for the Neo-nazis, Skin heads and KKK, and of course the Fundamental Right-wing Christian nim-rods. We need to start a new Party structure which from right to left is; Progressive-Democrats, Liberal-Democrats, Socialist-Democrats. All will be for Social Justice and not controlled by Corporate Ceo robber-barons.

Maybe we need to be a little more business friendly. Maybe we should make sure that we actually close our borders. These problems are government problems, not corporate problems. If they keep up with the corporate hostility it will only get worse.

Democracy has its flaws but everything else is worse, and although communism looks good on paper, it just doesn't work. I don't hate capitalism, but i don't love it either, the rich get richer, and I'm not rich, but I am trying.

Capitalism is the only system that will give you the opportunity to advance. What you don't love is how the government interferes with the free markets. Don't buy into the class envy thing because it won't make you richer by making someone else poorer.

The company I work for makes a substantial profit. I like the paycheck I get as a result of working there. Im a shareholder too, so I like the dividends and the stock appreciation. I would not trade this capitalist company for anything the government has to offer. And I think the senior managers at my company deserve every dime (err I mean millions) that they make. They (not me) employee hundrends of thousands of people because of their ingenuity and entreupreneurship. And my company pays taxes lots of taxes,the more money they make the more taxes they pay. They contribute too to the community and encourage their employees to as well. Capitalism yes nanny state no.

I read a post earlier with capitalism the main topic. It got me to looking for information. One valid point the post presented was the misunderstanding people had of socialism. The posting was pro capitalism, but it got me to looking around for information regarding the two. A simplified understanding of the pros and cons. I discovered many discussions. Here is one:

It is so fundamentally important because without it you could work and improve property and someone could just take it from you. That is why it is essential in freedom. I think any argument that doesn't include property is fundamentally flawed.

Most corporations are not evil. Many medium sized banks are not pigs. They are not in trouble because they are sensible. I say bank with them and ditch the rogue banks.

I've never entirely liked a capitalist system...

Classes currently look like this... ( )

You got the upper which is rich

The lower that is poor

and there are lots of people in those...

and then the middle class is shifting up for the most part... Capitalism doesn't support my beliefs for a utopia... Yeah utopias are not possible... yet we sure do make sure of it with capitalism... I'm fine living in a capitalist system... I do like some of the other models used overseas though...

It depends on your perspective...

What model works? There is no utopia unless you make it for yourself. That's the beauty of capitalism. Your achievements are only limited by your ability and your effort. If you want to be at the top get their by yourself because no one is stopping you. In any other system you have some safety nets and a whole lotta ceilings.

Capitalism just isn't what I would want for myself or the world... Arguably no system works... I liked Adam Smiths Version better... either way... its what we have... I don't see it going anywhere very soon...

Adam Smith is Capitalism. It's the system that Ayn Rand advocated. Our founders based our economic policy on his writings. The only difference now is that we have meddled with it and over-regulated it until we have screwed up the free market.
