    No

the refineries should be freed to produce as much as they can by having the drilling limits taken off of their suppliers this will create a demand for more refineries to be built...go for it.

    No

Hell, NO! Did I wake up in the USSR? NO! This is the USA, not Russia. We have a free enterprize system, and the oil companies and reserves should definitely not be nationalized! And btw, neither should our health care system! Get real! Look how well the government has run anything they have their hooks into, social security, medicare, etc.

Do we control monopolies? In a free market it should be free, Look at the state of texas all of the lands that were not owned at the time they became a state were held by the state not the Federal Government like all the other states. The oil on those lands goes to the state. Look at Alaska every person there gets a cut of the oil monies generated in that state, who are you kidding it has nothing to do with USSR ever nation in the world controls their menerial wealth and all subusidize there their oil industries and production to the citizens, check out the cost of gas in other oil producing countries, and look at the Gulf Of Mexico it is run by foriegn oil companies, so we will open all of this up then buy it back, who is nuts here. Please look up the facts.

You seem to be contadicting yourself, Patrick. In your statement "in a free market it should be free", you seem to say the oil industry and reserves should not be nationalized, but you go on and on about other countries controling their "menerial" wealth. There, you seem to want nationalization of the oil. Just where do you stand?
I don't think any industry in the U.S. should be run by the government, except for our national safety...the U.S. military!

The oil industry is not a free market, it is controlled by a few people, Merchant Banks (Barklyes England, Bank Paribus France, Chemicial Bank US. Unregulated special status in the commodities market) they are a monopoly and should either be nationalized and controled by elected officials of our country, no other country should be allowed to drill on our lands. We have fought wars all over the world about this commodity and it should stop fighiting wars of "national interest" and stead be making money for our own for our own. Look up the "Dark Commodities Law", it will give you some idea of the treason in our Senate. Check out where the current production of oil from Alaska is going, also see how many of the drilling and producing wells in the Gulf of Mexico are American. You will be suprised. Pardon the pun but the oil business is a nasty business and cares nothing about the strain on our economy. Do a little background history on OPEC, it was formed by Venzuela and based on the Texas Railroad Commesion control of Texas oil. There is no shortage of peterolium and never has been, earth continues to make it. We haven't dinted the amout avaiable, it is just manuplated by the monied interest at our expense. I hope this is a little clearer.

Just that one statement is good reason NOT to nationalize the oil! To nationalize means to put in government control, instead of private enterprize....if there is treason in the Senate, do you want the Senate to have control of the oil?

When citizens see daily the productions and prices they will get ride of senators who are now being subsidized by oil interest.
