The ONLY reason he did that was because he was taking soooo much crap for bowing dow to the Muslim Terrorist Dictator a few weeks ago!! So I'm sure he figures that the "simple minded" people will just say "oh, it must just be something he does to a lot of foreign leaders"... BUT AS USUAL HE JUST MADE AN ASS OF HIMSELF (AGAIN) BECAUSE HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW (OR WHEN) TO DO IT "RIGHT"!!

Not only is it inappropriate, it is disgusting. Especially when he didn't bow to Queen Elizabeth, the head of one of our staunchest allies. He's going to push our allies away and court our enemies, who will laugh as they slaughter Americans at every opportunity.

The Japanese say that a bow of the head from another head of state to the Emperor is correct protocal, but a 90% bow like Obama did shows subservience.

Curious...does anyone know what he did when he met the Pope? Did he genuflect? or Kiss the Papal Ring?

      Only in Obamaville.
Would you want to bow to the emporer of Japan, or the king of Saudi Arabia? I wouldn't.
Why does this man feel the compunction to do so? Obviously he is not the messiah he pretends to be.

Never. We have our own formalities, and bow to no one. A tilt of the head is all we need to do, and a handshake is traditional.

Showing respect to our allies, and sending a message to them and to the world that we recognize that our way is not the ONLY way to view the world, will only result in increased respect and cooperation from those allies. After eight years of an arrogant President who never missed an opportunity to say "you're either with us or against us" or "my way or the highway", it is outstanding to see a President who recognizes the concept of diplomacy and mutual respect.

And contrary to some people's misconceptions, it is a long standing tradition, one of many that the previous administration gleefully ignored.

mutual respect contrary peoples misconceptions standing tradition previous administration forgot

Nope, it is not. We shake hands, we do NOT bow. But the rules never, EVER apply to obammie. Seems the MSM worships him so that if he defecated on the Queens throne, they would excuse it.

Bowing in Japan shows weakness and subservience. Obammmmaaaaa is an idiot, and an appeaser and an anti American toad.

Actually, bowing in Japan shows respect. The Japanese people realize this; it's a shame that some in this country have forgotten what respect even means.

Definitely not! All that was necessary was a hand shake. Even the Emporer was uncomfortable with it. Apparently his administration don't advise him on such things, or he ignores them.

Don't worry too much about it - he is bowing to them as President of the Corporation of The United States which is property of City of London Corporation. It would seem that the American people have never really ever had a modern day president who represented the country and people of America. He is only your Present Resident - not your President!

Our glorious leader wasn't so much bowing as measuring for a b.j. Sliding along on his belly to foreign leaders and muslim terrorists is a ploy to get them to trust him,,, and us. Eventually he'll stand up, turn around and pick up the soap on the shower floor. Then we'll see how much they do trust us,,, and him.

It is appropriate as far as diplomatic protocol suggests using the colloquial greeting of the culture you are presenting yourself to as an honored guest. That being said, it is also incumbent upon the diplomat in any given situation to use the correct form and technique for that greeting. O-man's mistakes are the equivalent of walking up to the Queen of England and saying "hey bitch....what happenin'?", in other words, his efforts appear amateurish and ignorant further degrading our appearance in foreign circles.

Well said. Why is he ignoring the protocol officer? There is a whole office of people who tell them how to do things, when to do things and whatever else is expected of them, why ignore those who make you look like less of an ass?

Answer:BHO thinks he alone has all the answers. That is the problem with narcissits.

      http://www.state.gov/s/cpr/

That is the link to the State Department Protocol Office. The obamma appointee to that office was another of his people that ignored that pesky tax thing by simply not filing for 2005 and 2006. Errors she blamed on the postal service. HMMMM. Maybe that is why he is such an idiot. He appointed a newbie with no clue as to what she is doing.
