Question Business

If climate change is a scam, why are so many countries involved in Copenhagen even though many of them will suffer increased costs to address its agenda of curtailing CO2?

flaca November 29, 2009 03:31:45

Why would countries even consider additional costs to themselves in pollution controls etc. if their advisers and scientists could prove to them that global climate change is a scam? Surely not every government involved in Copenhagen is populated by idiots?

Quite simple really, it is a way to easily manipulate the US, as well as hurt our economic development and force (yet more) firms to relocate overseas or globalize their operations. All this will only hurt a Job market that is dwindling.

Not to mention, EU counties have control boards that make our EPA look like a bunch of fucking boy scouts on a camp out by comparison. Not surprisingly, the retrofit firms are also all EU, so they stand make billions.

Mark my words, if liberalized environmental bullshit becomes reality, we will see an immediate 5-7 percent loss in GDP the following year. The EU stands to profit, do not think for a second otherwise. Plus, it gives them the added benefit of being able to fuck with us too, so it is a no lose situation.

Still, I am sure this is all for nothing. I think obama is highly naive, but I refuse to believe he is nearly inept enough to act on his lofty (to say nothing of contrived) convictions.

I really don't care what other countries in the world think. The United States of America does not follow the rest of the nations in the world. We take the lead. There is a reason American Exceptionalism is the real deal.

We take a backseat to no one in the world. Look at our past in the last 70 years. We have nothing to be ashamed of, and everything to be proud of.

I have no idea what they believe anymore. There is a reason America is not Europe...and we have to do EVERYTHING we can to keep it that way.

I heard someone say the other day.."Europe can never be like America. Europe is a product of history. America is a product of Philosophy".

    AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The truth is the scientists that agree with climate change far outnumber those against.

Maybe because it is not a scam. It would cost some people some money to make the situation better. They would rather call it a scam then spend money on the future

actually in China there is a huge push for wind turbines. GE is one of the companies that exports technology in that area to China. The biggest involvement is by Denmark that at the present time has the most wind turbines of any country.

Even if the climate change is a scam(which I doubt, even I can see the difference in weather patterns just in the last 20 years), it's still good sense to protect the environment. We're still damaging the soil, ruining the air, killing off plant and animal species. We don't need global warming to destroy the planet.

lol @ you can see the diff in weather changes in the past 20 yrs.

Ummmm...of course there is. Earth (like humans and life) is ever changing. I mean...do we still have dinosaurs on earth? No...they are extinct. Part of NATURE. So if they polar bears are next...why is that a bad thing.

HUMANS are VERY arrogant to think that WE can have control of such a force called NATURE.

And the people that believe those arrogant bastards are nothing but STUPID SHEEP

Now...with that said...I think doing simple things to perserve our resources and our beautiful earth is great...but going over board and anal like this stupid generation is a joke.

Who's arrogant? EVERYONE believed it until this silliness about the emails went public, because it was regarded as scientific fact. Don't pat yourself on the back too quickly, missy. And don't be so foolish as to think that all waste we're polluting the planet with, and all the plant and animal life we're systematically eradicating is having no effect on nature. If you ask me, the scam is calling it a scam in the first place. Everyone is starting to see how much environmental friendliness is cutting into profits, and they're looking for an excuse to give it up with a clean conscience. Fucking sick...

Are you serious??????????? EVERYONE who??? Maybe all the dumbasses YOU hung around with cause I sure didn't.

There is NOTHING wrong with taking care of our resources and caring for our planet. In fact...as a creation of God (or whatever, energy, higher power, evolution, blah blah blah) we should HONOR it just like we honor all creations. HOWEVER...to go freaking broke and think we owe the world a debt for being the best country on earth.....NO WAY. F*CK that.

It's not about owing the world a debt, anyway, it's about keeping the world alive, and I don't recall saying that only the U.S. needed to clean up their act. Everyone does.

But whatever loser. Keep believing the warmers...lol
  • Shilo StarSpa... December 13, 2009 05:08:37
    Shilo
That's the best argument you can come up with? That has to be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard on SH to date. A person doesn't have to be afraid of death to want to keep living. But if you feel that way, please feel free to go sit in your garage with the door closed and the car running, it'll give you a chance to prove two of your points.

And for the record. I don't "believe the warmers", I believe the evidence. I believe the fact that in ONE Canadian province alone, hospital costs due to complications as a direct result of air pollution were over a billion dollars a year, and our air is cleaner than yours, by far. I believe the fact that it's almost at the point that you have to find a park to find a tree. I believe the signs that say "Do not drink the water" and "No Swimming - Contaminated water". I believe the fact that people regularly use car exhaust to intentionally kill themselves. And yes, I believe the recorded Data. One failed test doesn't discredit them all, especially when the rest are all consistent. It all comes back to the same thing though. With or without global warming, we're still killing the planet.

People whose opinions are written down for them by agents and advisers don't count.

Yes, I'm sure *you* remember everything they taught you in school.
But just to clarify, which William Morton are you talking about?

    This one...

    maybe this one...

    perhaps one of these...
    http://www.canada411.ca/searc...

    ...or these...
    http://www.canada411.ca/searc...

Getting my point yet? I can continue if you need further clarification.

I'm going to assume you're referring to the first one, seeing as he was involved in politics, but I fail to see why I should be intimate with the details of his life, since he was better noted for his career as an essayist and historical writer than he was for his life in politics. In fact, his biography only notes his political career as an afterthought. I can only assume you did a Google search for Canadian politicians and picked one you figured I wouldn't know of.

This is, of course, ignoring the fact that he died the year I was born. Yeah, I'll *definitely* say hi to him for you.

They may not be saying they want pollution, but their actions and opinions are clearly saying they'd rather make a bigger profit than care about the environment.

And what you really mean is that most *Americans* don't think man causes climate change. I think the operative phrase there is "they don't think".
