    No, I always give notice.
Back in 1998 in Jan. I told them I was quitting , they asked when and I told them the Second.
    They said wow Feb. 2nd?
I said no the second I get my tool box loaded into the truck.
    Only time I walked out.

A supervisor harrassed me daily for 5 years til I finally couldn't take it anymore. He went out of his way to make my life a living hell, it was affecting my health so one day I just didn't go back. It was the best (although financially devastating) decision I ever made.

Yes! The moment I am treated with less respect than I give, I'm outta there! My last boss told me that I would never leave his company because I made too much to walk out on. That was his mistake.....I was gone the very next day.

No, if I ever felt the need to quit my job, I'd make a big scene about it in front of everybody...shouting, arms flailing, doors slamming and everything.

I'am on your side Seth(like the name!) I was called into my boss's office, because I had takenl my clothes off while on the workroom floor except for my whitie tighties. While I was standing there in her office ;she grew quiet agitated, and demanded that I remove them also. I didn't.But ,I put my clothes under my arm and told her she was weird and ,Seth, I quit right then and there! I guess I showed her! Well, not everything.

I have and do not feel the least bit guilty about it. bosses dont give you notice when you will be fired. some places i have given notice because they were good to me. doing that i was always welcome to work there again.

No but I was close to doing that about 2 weeks ago. It's a weird thing, because no matter how badly I want to leave the job and try looking outside for another job, I can't find one or get out. It sucks. Mostly it sucks being in a job where they place you because you were reduced in force and the hiring administration didn't get a chance to interview you. It's sucked so far and keep on applying. One good thing that has come out of it is that I am a manager in a whole different field than what I have ever been.

Almost. The work environment had become very toxic; I dreaded going to work.

Then some small thing happened which was the final straw. So I wrote my resignation, briefly stating my reasons, "effective immediately" and slid it under the correct persons office door as I left that afternoon.

Went back the following week to pick up my check, and about half my co-workers were also gone!

Yes, I did, when I was young and stupid, but, I knew everything(yea, right), except how to negotiate my grievances. It did seem to be the right thing to do at the time and I certainly needed more $, which was NOT on their agenda, so I walked thinking, no problem, there are many jobs out there. However, this company was never on my resume.

Yes. I was ordered to write a white paper defending an illegal action that the corporation was taking. I was told that if I did not comply, I would lose my job (big bucks). I walked. You do not threaten me or demand that I do something unethical or immoral. Many "friends" said that I had "ruined" my career. I did not, and I have never regretted my choice and action.

Yup 1 time when I was a kid. I worked at mcdonalds for a grand total of 6 hours. I was hired with the condition that I could not work on halloween which was the next week. This snot nosed little manager put the scedule up. When I asked him he said well you can work or get fired. I told him not to bother and I walked out right then and there.

Yep did it with my last job. It had been building and building because the working conditions got worse and worse. I was working in a rat infested area with a guy who didn't shower and he liked to blow snot rockets into the trash cans (and everywhere else). The straw that broke the camel's back was when my father died.

He died very suddenly and we ended up having a lot to do afterwards. The big boss told me to take a few weeks off and get everything in order. My main boss put me on the schedule the day after the funeral and told me if I didn't show up then I'd get written up. I ended up quitting
