    No, I always give notice.
Back in 1998 in Jan. I told them I was quitting , they asked when and I told them the Second.
    They said wow Feb. 2nd?
I said no the second I get my tool box loaded into the truck.
    Only time I walked out.

Yep. It was an overnight job at Wal-Mart. It messed up my sleep, so I snapped and decided to just walk out half-way through my shift, went to sleep and never went back.

Nope. I just don't think it's ethical and professional. I like to enter and leave an employment with good feeling.

YES! When the boss’s son held a knife at my throat. Two men in the Warehouse were stalking me and I was almost assaulted in the parking lot. Not a very safe place to work.

Yes...I was really angry. It was over principle and I am glad I did it. I became the hero of the office. (The story is too involved to tell you).

I have been injured twice , broken wrist, knocked cold out , by illegals, whom did not know primary construction principals, or saftey standards , or just plain common sense.I walked without the slightest hesitation, with a dependent family. i went to work the day after .
    P.S. after bones had healed.

Yes...When I was seventeen working at a Dairy Queen. After a couple of hours at the register, people were pissing me off so I just threw my hat down and walked out right in the middle of an order. Looking back, it was just funny.

yup. Very abusive boss who pretty much left me alone but used to yell at the employees. One became my friend and the last time he screamed at her for nothing (she was in tears) I left. But I did payroll first, listened to him blablabla at me about what needed to be done that day and as soon as I wrote out everyones paycheck I walked. Was great!

Twice. The first time I left after my shift and never went back. The second time I had an argument with my boss over the phone. So I wrote up my resignation and when I finished what I needed to do, I left the resignation and the store keys in the safe and turned it over to the next supervisor.

just once I worked at an Albertsons in Florida years ago I had worked 2 shifts without so much as a lunch break, and not for the first time. Just couldn't take it any more when there was a lull I counted down my drawer called the super and walked out.

Yeah, when I was about 19 and that was really immature. The best thing to do is give a couple weeks notice (in writing). Don't give too long of a notice or you'll start feeling irrelevant. Also, never vent when you give notice or you could get bad references. As a hiring manager, don't put much weight on references either.
