Question Business

First Oprah, and now Barbara Walters follows suit and loses her "Twitter Verginity." Will "...these two old ladies continue yammering on about technology they don't understand until it topples over and doesn't exist anymore..."?

Probably, but this is one bit of technology that I just don't get the point of. Who gives a crap what celebrities (or anyone for that matter) are doing 24/7? I know I don't.

I do not want to know every single minute of someones life. I'm trying to live mine first! My number one priority here in Michigan is to find a JOB!

Here's a joke: minute someones life live number priority michigan job joke

Their business is already in the street so it makes sense for them to get on twitter and twit away.

I like both Oprah and Barbara so, haha, I can't say anything bad about their habits or try to take away their twitter fun. It's hot right now so it will probably settle down eventually. And only to be replaced by something more new and techy.

What's more important is for folks to ask themselves why O & B's habits might bug them so much. Geeze, relax people. TV is not all tight and controlled now like it was in the 50's or before. It's more real and relaxed nowadays.

Thank Gods my son has kept me up to date on technology, so I don't embarrass myself in public...but then again he's 41 now...By the way, you spelled virginity wrong. I wonder how you'll feel when your 50 or 60...just think, some smart ass kid might be talking about you.

Discalimer: I don't watch Oprah, but I did watch this segment with Twitter Founder, Evan Williams.

I kept cringing when they would talk about the technology and ask questions that showed they had no idea how it worked or its social implications. I don't expect them to know all of this, but when you have a guest on the show they need to prepare for it.

My stepdad won an Emmy for his work as a television morning host. He spent hours everyday preparing for the next day's show. Today, I don't think the hosts spend more than 15 minutes preparing and it shows.
