Yes and no. If the man in the relationship plays the traditional male role then yes. That means more than just working as dad is supposed to be the one doing upkeep on the home rather than calling someone else to do it. He's supposed to fix the car rather than hiring a mechanic. He's supposed to mow the yard and clip the hedges... the manly stuff he'll never be appreciated for anymore than his wife will be appreciated for housework.

But let's face some facts here.

The average working male comes home, flops in a chair and takes over the tv. Note that I said takes over because much of the day he's at work mom has her ass sitting in front of the boob tube maybe doing a little housework inbetween shows. The husband rarely does any of the traditional male roles because he works and pays people to do those things. Likewise, the average housewife pops food into a microwave from a can or freezer which her five year old child could do and the average American home with a homemaker is a pigsty.

The roles of Americans when it comes to their homes are affected by one thing more than anything... depression.

Being a homemaker today is so easy compared to fifty years ago and it in turn was better than fifty years earlier that your average housewife has more free time on her hands. So if...

So if she actually does housework on a regular basis, she has little to do beyond that. All the social graces have been lost such as housewives spending time visiting one another so you could find two or three women in a house during the day cleaning and helping one another with the kids. Likewise, what happened to the men working together under the hood of a car, going on hunting trips and so forth? What happened to couples doing ordinary things like inviting one another over for cards, barbeques and orgies (ok the last I tossed in to liven things up lol).

Women or men, someone in each household should be a home maker and someone a financial provider. A woman who wants to be a career person should seek out a husband with no career ambitions to be the home maker. Men can cook and clean as well as any woman, it's just not the role they play typically. It used to be women made fun of a husband trying to clean or cook and messing up. Then increasingly they found that their own daughters, sisters and so forth couldn't cook or clean either so it stopped just being a way to bash men.

So the answer to your question is no, women should not be expected to be the ones doing the housework. But in a society where women are as reluctant as men to have men play the role of home maker, the traditional role still falls on women to do this. Break the stigma of men being homemakers and then you break the traditional stereotype of women being the one's cleaning the house and caring for the children.

The rope cut pretty deep in to the flesh, the last time around. Consequently, I have a better handle on what to avoid, this time.

I must admit, the camouflage is getting better, though?

I'm thinking, perhaps... Polygamy and Polyamory... next go round!

reason she does'nt want me doing the laundry when people

No. My wife and I have our chores divided rather evenly. I think she'd bash me with a mop for even suggesting such a medieval idea. qc.

no - i but i don't think most men do as thorough of a job. I think they should tidy up and clean up after themselves - but women should do the detail work.

This is a question like "have you stoppped beating your wife" . You can't possibly say yes because that implies you have been beating her. if you say no then you're saying that you're still beating her.

If you say you think women should do the hosework then the wrath of women will descend on your head.

Oh good thanks a lot. I seem to recall that you're very attractive and sexy. I tend to remember things like that. I don't suppose you saw Zenyatta, your wonder mare in the Breeder's Cup Classic horse race yesterday. She came from last to first and just mowed the field down. Totally brilliant, she annihilated our European challengers.

No. but if she doesnt have a job and she is able to do it, then sure. I do most of our house work but there are a few things that are my hubby's job (like taking out the trash). And sometimes its actually better if the woman does it cuz more often than not a guy doesnt know what he's doing and he'll mess it up, lol. house work hubbys job trash woman cuz guy mess lol

  • ๑۩۩..ßεℓℓεchεvεℓℓε®..۩۩๑Wrathful Mayor of Crazytown
No. Hey I wouldn't mind doing it all if I were a kept woman like generations before. But if I'm out working 40+ hours a week, darn tootin I ain't doing it all by myself.

It's not an issue in our household, though.
