I probably watch more programs than I used to (because I can watch one while recording another), but I definitely watch fewer commercials!

It records TV shows so you can watch them later and you can fast forward through the commercials. Also, if you are watching a show, you can pause it. It's pretty cool. When we watch Survivor, it starts at 8. But we start watching it at 8:25, then we can fast forward through all of the commercials! :)

Yes I have one, but I think I watch about the same number of hours per week. I do watch a lot more shows though and less commercials which averages out to the same amount of time!!

I like the fact that I can record a game in Europe at 4 am pst and its there. It used to be tapes and I was forever recording 2 hours of sponge bob instead of a soccer match. I like it.

I'm not sure that it would be worth getting for us. I don't watch much TV and my husband usually naps through his shows. He uses TV as a sleep aid. We have sattelite and I listen to more music channels than I do movie channels. A few sitcoms and HGTV are all I need.

i watch very little TV but there are a few shows i would love to have recorded. I dont like to be a slave to the viewing schedule. I also would like to be able to record appropriate childrens shows for my kids to watch after dinner. There seems to be a shortage of them in the evening.

I think that there are plenty of things to do outside of figuring out what to watch on TV. I have a couple of shows I like to watch but outside of that I don't worry about it.

I try to limit my t.v. time. I am too busy most of the time, but I do love the oxygen channel. Growing up my parents didn't allow us to watch t.v. We didn't even own one. All six of us kids graduated and went on to college. My daughter only is allowed 30 minutes a day. My mama always said t.v. rots your brain.

We have DVR. It's really nice being able to go through the commercials, even though my dad said he heard on the radio that the they are thinking of taking the fast forwarding away, because they need you to watch those commercials. :( Which is complete BS. But, aside from that I record lots of TCM movies, and I just watch them whenever I'm in the mood for an old movie. However, the DVR definitely doesn't make me watch more TV. I don't watch a whole lot actually. Only at night.

Don't really plan on getting one, but I don't " dont want it" either. Maybe one day in the future lol at the moment I hardly have time for tv, but when I do I usually just watch shows on dvd boxes, and the new ones I miss on tv - I watch them online.

I have two DVR's and I watch more TV in less time. In addition, no more commercials, I HATE commercials. You know what I really hate about commercials, how loud they are. Do you ever notice that? your watching a movie on the sci fi channel, and the sound is so low your have to turn the volume all the way up just to hear the movie, then the commercial comes on, and your blown away almost peeing in your pants it's so loud. It drives me nuts. I think I am going to need to join a group soon though. A few months ago both of the DVR's broke, and I had to wait a week to get new ones.. It was almost like coming off crack.. The withdrawal was sooooooooooo bad.. Ok one more thing about the DVR and then I am going.. While I LOVE, LOVE, my DVR, I can see where it is starting to become a problem.. I am so use to pausing my TV when the phone rings, when someone is at the door, when a kid wants to talk, or rewinding it when I missed something due to loud noise in the house, or I fell asleep sitting up. I have become so dependent on my dang pause button that when I listen to talk radio during the day and I miss something they said, or I need to run into the store I reach for the dang remote to pause it or rewind it. I Just say silly girl this is radio not TV, and then bitch to myself about how radio needs a DVR too .. I know I am crazy.. Hence the name people..lol

Oh I do that ALL THE TIME. Thought I was the only one loosing my mind... am constantly looking for the pause or rewind button on the radio. Really, satelite radio should have that, I;m sure soon. Hey, maybe your radio shows are pod cast, then you can rewind all you want! But if you're like me... the passion at the 'puter is SodaHead. hee hee

My hubby wants to get a DVR because he works odd hours and his job requires him to travels alot...He misses most of his favorite shows....so we will prolly get a DVR pretty quick...BTW we have a friend who TiVo'd the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction at the SuperBowl!!!...when we get our DVR...I solemnly swear to use the DVR for good and not for evil...lol ;)
