In what appears to be a pathetic attempt to gain spotlight, McCain has overreached in his plot to embarrass Obama and it has made him look like a ranting geriatric war veteran; who will do anything to get some story time in at the dinner table.
At one point one would assume that any type of Global conflict would show off McCain commander and chief credentials. And the greatest opportunity that landed on his campaigns lap was the conflict between Russia and Georgia. A week ago McCain's candidacy definitely needed some post Obama European rock star tour publicity .
The themes of McCain's campaign thus far have been limited to "McCain strong, experienced, tough, patriotic and American (grunt)." So understanding how Americans like being safe they would avoid the urge to succumb their Obama crush and make sure to put McCain in the oval office.
But putting a working camera and microphone in John McCain's face has been the greatest campaign gift to the Obama. McCain's pre-senile rants have graduated from cartoon-nationalism into foolish uncensored hawkish rants.
The misstep is John McCain campaign is over-speaking about Iraq and foreign policy credentials. The reason why this is detrimental to his campaign is simple. The first 400 times McCain said the ‘surge has worked and Obama has not supported it’ (the surge) he had caught the ears of his cohort, and more importantly a large portion of undecided who are skeptical about Obama on issue regarding militancy. But, than when he said ‘the surge has worked and only I have supported the surge’ for the 1000th time, people begin given additional time to ponderous to the nature of the unlawful invasion. And many began to question ‘should the US really be babysitting a democracy in radical infancy.’ The skeptics began to question ‘if the surged is really the best way too maximize Iraqis political potential by increasing America's resources and military presence in the uncooperative nation.’
The longer he keeps the redundant surge talk, the more time Obama has to counter his argument with the cons of an extended American military presence. This also gave time for the leadership in Iraq to speak favorably of Obama withdrawal proposal favorably, not to mention the ascendancy of exotic military language like "Time Horizons" being spoken by the hawkish administration.
Now Defense Secretary Robert Gates spoke of Russian American relationship changing as a result of the ongoing conflict in the Caucus region. Russia has for sometime to minimize the influence the west has over the Post-Soviet world and the US in particular. Russia also finds displeasure with "anti-missile" defense system in Poland implemented by none of other than the US.
McCain is also propelling the worst stereotypes about America that the nation is eager, hawkish and is just all out nihilistic. These images (in conjunction with Iraq) are being fed to the world community and have severely hurt the US as moral leader on the world stage.
So now, America has both hands tied in two Mid-East Wars and limited military muscle to flex. While "Glorious Russia" is demonstrating to the world that it will protect its own interest from western aggression through its unwavering support of South Ossetia. It also shows the other Post-Soviet countries that Russia will support it both economically and militarily like what has been demonstrated with the North Ossetia refugee camps. While the US news is making Russia look like the over aggressive bear, the Russian province of North Ossetia is attending the needs thousands of displaced refugees who have fallen victim to Georgian forces.
American leaders like McCain and much of the press practically ignored the fact that President Saakashvili sent troops to reassert control in the region of Ossetia to get the "province in line."
McCain is the premier supporter propagator of America pouring all its limited resources in to the aimless occupation of Iraq. So John McCain's uncensored statements about the military actions of Russia show that he is going to propel the nation in the same direction that George Bush has for sometime. Remember him saying "there will be more wars my friend." More wars that could have been solved diplomatically and based on the clandestine scheming of Russia and Iranian leaders that is exactly what these nations desire to see. An overextended US means a weakened dollar, a weakened US economy and most tragic a weakened military with no chance to intervene in urgent conflicts, this truth that many are realizing about McCain despite his war hero ads.
The extension of this debate caused another Phil Graham moment this time via McCain’s chief foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann. Scheunamann an early advocate U.S to unlawful US led invasion of Iraq was paid through Macedonian, Taiwanese and $830,000 from Georgian lobbyist. So he may not be the most sober-minded man on foreign policy especially regarding issues involving the State of Georgia.
This is McCain choice mister anti-establishment Maverick chose a person with nearly a million dollars of lobbied interest to a state to McCain an objective policy decision regarding American security.
McCain’s foreign policy expert said they wanted foreign policy crises, because it would help them in the polls, well I though so to. I wonder if I am the only person who has had a change of heart.

On Monday of last week Russian tanks scouted through Georgia in and around the city of Gori (some irrelevant City central Georgia.) Gori residents claim that the Russian troop presence on the pedestrian streets is stirring incivility and chaos. Not surprisingly, the
Russian officials claimed they were needed to preserve order. Despite Russia's insistence to provide unsolicited military presence in the neighborhood streets of their oppositional neighbor, the Kremlin had an eventual change of Heart when France’s negotiator Sarkowsy persuaded the Russian government to pledge to pull out today pull out of the state of Georgia.
A few days after the brokered treaty the west anticipates the implementation of the pledge. What happens! "The Russians have not withdrawn," said Georgian Security Council chief Alexander Lomaia. Divergently, the Russian military remained and restricted access to the city local shops and commerce some cities were totally shut down.
This week’s Georgian newscast candidly exposed the Russian military armored vehicles rolling through a group local of Georgian police and blockading the road. Cars were dragged along the street by the Russian armor.
Instead removing their forces from the Georgia region it seems as though the Russian forces are conveniently moving their armory to a nearby place where their communist presence is welcomed a province called South Ossetia.
The Ossetians have been asking for Russian intervention for sometime now. The anti-NATO province has seen its fair share of tragic events due to the strong backhand of Georgia. The Northern portion of has become a refuge too many civilians whose homes, civil centers and hospitals have been devastated by Georgian forces. Now, on the other hand North Ossetia is not just only emotionally and economically attach to Russia it is an addendum of the Russia.
The interest of the people in South Ossetia needs to be heard not just the interest of NATO or Vladmir Putin’s whipping boy President Medvedev. If the world listens we can find out exactly what the citizens of this region want. A forceful overtaking of a seceding Province is not justifiable by the Western Pro Democratic standards our country supposedly endorses for the world.
So should we warrant US leaders the right to ignore an aggressive military invasion of a pro-western corporatist pro-NATO nation like Georgia and quickly denounce the counter from hyper-militant Russia?
It is foolish to believe that Russia will not act in behalf of its own political and economic interest if the US does not attempt to handle this century long conflict without of objectivity. The question both countries should be asking is should justice be bias to a political and economic structure like capitalism?
(If we disqualify the "yes crowd" of right winger would like to believe that it is a valid premise for invasion...) than both nations can move foreword reconciliation.
The European Union negotiated a peace plan signed by both Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Georgian President Saakashvili,in which both nations must pull out of South Ossetia by Aug. 7. And like a bashful, ultra-naive 16 year old girl the West believed that Russia would just “pull out.” Despite the derogatory finger waiving at President Dmitry Medvedev, Americans should keep in mind the reason why this Imperial nation is in Province in the first place.
Unless both sides work towards a real peace South Ossetia will eventually become Russia’s Israel with heavily lobbied interest in the state graduating into an unbridled alliance; an alliance that justifies prejudice and stirs a irreparable hostility with their its neighbor Georgia.
Well Russia has already deployed SS-21 missile launchers in the state and is installing surface to sir missiles near a military headquarters in the city Tskhinvali (just NE Gori.)

Well... because us residents we pay pimp Uncle Sam.
<A href="http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/03/26/nyregion/26immigration.533.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/03/26/nyregion/26immigration.533.jpg" title="dobbs reillys policy highway headed south nearest border friendly security" height="266" width="400" orig_size="533x355" alt="dobbs reillys policy highway headed south nearest border friendly security"/></A>
But how about illegal are "they America" like me and you.
Should they be able to comment in broad day light with no State non-driver's license and no stamped passport or records indicating they are allowed be marching on this side of the border.
It is mixed for me. On one end the anti-labor pro-corporatist enjoy having English illiterates who have no legal rights to form a pesky union or demand more pay.
It's mixed one end the Nativist Lou Dobbs - O Reilly's in me says "You need to follow the US policy, or find the highway headed south... towards the nearest US border. And make yourself friendly with the Security on the way out.
Than the flipflop wearing watter bottle carrying touchy-feely bleeding Obama rally fanatic "believes that people can bot be illegal- And that this is a nation of immigrants with big hearts and imagination and beautiful vision on empowering their families. And even the flipflop wearing Frap-drinker in me is a little mixed on Amnesty.
So guess O Reilly wins this round.
For instance On other issues: as gay marriage, gun law restriction, women uterus is her domain and climate change is really serious concern all progressive.
I even sympathize with paranoid 911-truth street protesters. But on this issue IO sound like a grumpy old Archie-Bunker ish Republican.
I do not think illegal immigrants get to stop midday traffic to demonstrate in protest against the unjust circumstance they face while they illegally reside here without consent of the US government.
I think being a neurotic, hyper-critical cosmopolitan is a right reserved for people who can rent movies at Hollywood Video and walk into the Gap and apply for a merchant card and get denied using on their own name.
Illegal immigrants should have a right to be treated with dignity and respect from the law enforcement and their fellow neighbors who are
legally residing here. But civil removal and detainment should be on the table as well.
