All you need to do is search McCain's lobbyist, ties w/Enron, and you will see his connections. You have to see both sides. -
raves Jul 25, 2008 07:16PM GMTI agree with NO MCCAIN, even though I am not a supporter of either of the presidential hopefuls this year. We have to open-mindedly ~ keyword: with absolute unbias ~ see both sides of the coin.
McCain has qualifications and 35+ years of experience, as well as some honorable credentials that are undeniably a portion of his appeal to many conservatives, and probably to a good portion of liberals, and others, for that matter.
Perhaps liberals cannot pull the "experience" or "honorable service" to our country out of their pockets for their presidential hopeful; but Obama has the flair, j'oie de vive, articulation (and charm) appeal (in all age groups), good looks, vigor, and celebrity qualities that McCain lacks. And, if we look honestly, Obama's appeal is not exclusive to African Americans, but to people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and cultures in our country.
I'm sure, at least in their own minds, and in the minds of some of their supporters, these men both have what it takes to be Leader of the "Free" World, in these tenuous times. (Oh, alliteration! LOL)
For me, though, the decision on whether to cast a vote at all or casting one for more of the dreadful same has been, and continues to be, a difficult decision to make. It would benefit us Americans, if we had more than TWO parties to choose from, n'est pas?

raves Jul 09, 2008 05:10AM GMTAgreed, but if he was not running for president would you care who his friends are?
-
raves +4 Jul 09, 2008 05:29AM GMTPut it this way.. if he was not running for president we would not know about his acquaintences.. that is true.. but a candidate for president must be above reproach, he must be honorable and of good personal character, of good moral and ethical standard.. Obama is none of these things.. he is a liar, a racist, an arrogant elitist, an opportunist, politically expedient, has no integrity and very poor judgment.. this is not presidential material and we must not allow this man to gain power in our white house.

raves -1 Jul 09, 2008 05:34AM GMTYou are entitled to your view but I dont share the same.Plus the only other option is a half dead man with no heart, and does not care about the working class.I will stick to with what I know.Obama 08 ALL THE WAY!But I do appreciate your opinion.
-
raves +3 Jul 09, 2008 05:45AM GMTMcCain is not half dead by any means and he certainly cares a lot more about the working class than Obama.. are you kidding me.. why do you think that the working class refuse to support Obama?? why do you think that is one of his biggest problems?? my goodness.. have an opinion but don't be ridiculous please.
-
raves Jul 09, 2008 05:48AM GMTI did not attack your views even though I dont agree, dont attack mine.I am the working class like I said Obama 08.Keep your opinion and I will keep mine and thats okay to do.Have a good night.

raves +3 Jul 09, 2008 02:58PM GMTBLOCKING IS JUST A WAY TO SAY YOU ARE AFRAID.. AFRAID OF TRUTH.
-
raves Jul 09, 2008 04:04PM GMTNO BLOCKING CRAZY PEOPLE IS SMART!LOL

If Obama truly has ties with the shady characters that I've read and heard about ~ and I've not heard him deny that he does not have ties with them ~ I hope people will open their eyes before it's too late. None of us really know for sure who's taking snippets from news clips that have been aired, but perhaps were doctored a bit ~ edited ~ prior to airing.
I can only reiterate that these are tenuous times, and our conscious decisions are of high importance to the future of our country. As a people, I believe we need to arm ourselves with knowledge, open our eyes and minds, and use our minds, rather than our emotions, to steer this country back onto the right course. We need some new navigators, that's for sure!
