Hi Lee I hope I am finding you well. I two find this time of year very exciting and Mysterious. It seams that it is this time of year that the world for me comes to life. Many think its spooky and sad because the leaves fall. Things become dark and Dead looking the wind seams to blow and call out in a haunting Moan ! It was this back drop that one scary strange event took place well I was traveling! It was just after I had entered New England off a sea merchants ship one October . That changed my hole view of this time of year! I was tired that night and had worked three months scrubbing decks and chipping paint to pay off my fair on the Merchant ship. I was planing on staying aboard for the entire three month gurney. but when the Tibets Anchored just out side New england that cold night i just felt as if I had stayed aboard as long as i wanted to so i notified the Captain that i would be taken my leave and . He patted me on the shoulder rolled his eye's and said Well we are going to miss you son your a good worker. If you ever need a job we have one here for you. Then he wrote me out a check for around Five Hundred Bucks ! I said my fear wells and walked down the dark pier and never looked back at the rust bucket . I remember adjusting my green sea bag and raising My pea coat Collier to keep out the night chill. as the wind whistled its call rustling some leaves. There was a cold fog bank coming in of the water and . what funny is i looked down at my Micky mouse Wrist watch and it was just going on 8:35 PM . But whats funny is it felt as if with the damp weather and darkness it was a lot later. The only sounds i could hear was my boot falls on the Pavement and the sea water slapping up against the dock that lead down a Nero passage way to a low lite empty street . Its also well to note that I have many times heard the ocean and have seen Fog banks of all sorts roll in some moving slow others quit fast . dark Fog banks white fog banks . To know me you would know I'm not a man that scares easy. that is as long as its not Spiders they creep me out . but most things just seam to come to me as Know big thing. So as I watched the pinkish fog bank rolling in slowly I remember saying to my self . Wow thats the first time Ive seen that kind of fog! But others than my steps picking up a bit to get off the docks so i wouldn't fall in the water because I felt if that fog caught up with me it would swallow up the little lamp lights i had to guide me. Also it would be thick as Pea soup!. So as my feet hit solid ground to say the least . I was a bit more at ease. It was interesting to me that the street was all but empty and the cobbled stone brick walk way looked slick and damp. Almost as if some one had thrown a hole lot of black oil over its entire top. I adjusted my sea bag again when the fog reached the shore ! Thats when I heard the strange sound . It was a morn full how el. A howl that was not that of a dog . but the kind of sound that makes you look all around and instinctively every bone in your body tenses and say Oh shit! Your In trouble. kind of like when you are in deep water and and you hear a huge splash behind you and the water around you moves in a huge wave yet you can't see anything. A point were you feel your nerves tense and your in sticks say something big is out there possibly cycling you swimming under you. Its pure fear as to just shouting out Christ what is it !!!! Will I be able to deal with it! Thats the feeling i got as the fog surrounded me . it was so thick that when i held out my hand in front of my face . I could not see it! I said to my self Oh shit! Maybe it wasn't such a great idea I had leaving the ship! Thats when an old mans Voice said why is that ? Then out of the fog stepped a hearty looking Guy with a Pipe puffing it. I said wow you startled me ! the man said wonder why this Crazy dam fog just rolled in out of know where. I said you wouldn't know of a place to stay for the night would you? The old man said there's an Inn just about a block from here they sell soup and spirits! Give you a room at a good deal. I adjusted my sea bag and said to the old man just a block you say! The guy said yes but be careful In theirs October Fog you might Pass It By . I was just about to say Thank you when Out of the Fog came a dark hand Attached to dark shoulders on what could only be described as something from the Bowels of hell ! And grabbed the old Man yanking him right off his feet like he was a little boy ! Pulling him in to the swirling Pink fog. The old man yelled i heard a growl and then something hit my leg and clicked on the stones . I looked down and realized it was the old mans Pipe . It looked like it was bloody! I don't remember Running or anything Like that ! All I remember doing is hitting the Inn door like hell was on my heals. The man who ran the in said Son you look like you seen a Ghost! I remember saying I did. then i passed out! Well when I came too so to speak . It was Morning and The Guy asked if i was OK i said Yes Paid my bill and headed to the train station and got the hell out of there. But in the end I just chalk it up as a spooky Halloween adventure! I also hope never to find out what the hell that thing was! LOL?????????
