No, not a far-right VP pick, but a principled conservative Republican pick!
One that took on her own party to rail against corruption. And what has Obama done to rail against corruption in his own party? Nothing!

And Obama holds himself out to be a reformer? I don’t think so!!

“I think I have done a good job in rising politically in this environment without being entangled in some of the traditional problems of Chicago politics.”, said Obama. (Freddoso, p 19)

In his book, The Case Against Barack Obama, David Freddoso meticulously chronicles the story of “Chicago Machine politics” that brought Obama to the forefront and involvement in corrupt Cook County government through John and later Todd Stroger. “Obama knew exactly how the Stroger Machine worked in 2006. The County government was not only paying for John Stroger’s standing political army of door-knockers, it was also sending out the salary checks that would eventually make their way to his campaign account.”(Ibid, p 8)

“Did Barack Obama engage in illegal patronage hiring and the other corrupt practices of Cook County’s government? Absolutely not. Has he repeatedly and knowingly enabled those who do? Absolutely.”(Ibid)

Yet, it’s amazing that even Chicago Tribune columnist, John Kass’ scathing review didn’t make muster for the LSM to vet the self-proclaimed “reformer” of Washington politics.

    He wrote:

“Why is Obama allowed to campaign as a reformer, virtually unchallenged by the media, though he’s a product of Chicago politics and has never condemned the wholesale political corruption in his home town the way he condemns those darn Washington lobbyists?...He has endorsed Daley, endorsed Daley’s hapless stooge Todd Stroger for president of the Cook County Board. These are not the acts of a reformer.”(Ibid, p 19.)

A far Right winged, ultra-conservative, by any other name is...a far right wing, ultra-conservative. Pro assault rifle weapons on gang ridden inner-cities, anti-choice in in cases of rape and incest, anti-EPA regulations, in the pocket of big oil, does not believe global warming is real, anti-funding for assisting teen mothers, anti-universal health care reform, anti-separation of church and state in public schools.

    Far Right wing. Ultra-conservative.

And your point? You completely failed to address my post, but that's typical of the left. When confronted with the fact, they resort to the name calling attacks. You make this too easy!

Well, just to show you that I can easily match your spouted epithets:

Obama far-left Socialst Maxist lover of Saul Alinsky, Anti-2nd Amendment (that is until the Supreme Court ruled otherwise), let's kill the living baby outside the womb, 'Bridge to Nowhere' earmark lover, in the pocket of SEIU, the teacher's union and George Soros, Global Whining supporter (even though there's NO concrete evidence what-so-ever that global warming exists), (please define your objections to the teen mother thing? I don't see any bills objected to by the Republican party, so name them!), Anti-captialist solutions to Social Security (that will be broke by 2042), Medicare, and health care reforms. Tax and Spend liberals borrowing more money from China to morgage our kids' future!

And oh, by the way.... Tell the congress to stop begining each legislative session with a PRAYER!

    Do you feel better now?

I don't have to. When I read the "but a principled conservative Rep..." mantra (as if to say democrats aren't) I knew where you were going. It's like a party of parrots trained to speak on cue.

Parrots speak the words of others (you know... much like yourself).

I have heard the mindless drivel of your heros in the left-stream media and have categorically denied their repacious and vapid reporting.

If you'd bother to do the research yourself, you'll discover something:
Government is not the solution when government is the problem!

Here is wisdom if you're smart enough to take it.

“Take your life in your own hands and what happens? A terrible thing: no one is to blame.” - Erica Jong

You know? On that last point you are so right. The former is just so much bravado. I'm so glad you mentioned govt. not being the solution.
But foreign policy, energy and job creation and the economy are a little beyond my self reliance. And I will not be selfish and closed off considering only myself. After all I am a part of what has been coined the "ownership society" and I'm busy enough managing it.

So I have to trust these broad matters in the hands of capable public servants whom I believe have not only my own, but my neighbors best interests at heart...and so do you.

By the by...Erica dear is one of those "other" as you so pointedly referred.

    Informed voter:
Do you know anythig about Chicago? Or how Illinois "traditional politics" works?
  • raves     [-] Informed Voter replied to Butch
Apparently, I'm much more attuned to "Chicago Machine" politics then your friends in the "forgive Obama" media (Emil Jones, John and Todd Stroger, Mayor Daley, bill-hijacking, election fraud, etc..) yeah, I think I've got a handle on it.

There is no way we can expect change from John McCain. He voted with Bush 90% of the time, so how can we expect anything but more of the same from him? He thinks things are just fine now. That shows just how out of touch he is with the struggles many Americans are facing now.

and all Obama offered was styrofoam pillars and glitz. This is not the candidate for the people but only for the elite. He is arrogant and condescending to the American people. He uses the peopel for his own political goals. It is not about the people it is all about himself. Started in the Carolinas when the Obama campaign said Clinton's words were racists. So you see the people are tired of the empty suit that makes everything about him and not the people. He is arrogant, even his pictures shows his nose up in the air. And where are the people of his white heritage at? If I were obama I would have ran as the candidate of the Black and white America. But he is using and I mean using his black heritage to play the game. He lacks confidence in his leadership, that is why his change turned to a status quo position when he settled with old Washington politics VP. He had to make up for his own deficiencies.
