If McCain has dementia, what is Obama's excuse?
So tired of the Obama supporters talking about how old McCain is and how he has dementia. Not only are those remarks crass, but they are cruel as well. Diagnosing someone whom you've never met w/ that disease is disrespectful to those suffering from that illness and it is disrespectful to the families who suffer along w/ their family members plagued by this disease.
What type of excuses will those who make fun of McCain's age use to stick up for Obama?

Obama Wants To Be Absolutely Clear on Who Is Israel's Friend
July 22, 2008 2:35 PM
"Let me be absolutely clear," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, said today at a press conference in Amman, Jordan. "Israel is a strong friend of Israel's. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under a McCain...administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change."

Barack Obama expects to be the President of the United States for the next 8 to 10 years.
Today on CBS’s Face the Nation, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in Afghanistan, told the paparazzi-pursued correspondent Lara Logan that “the objective of this trip was to have substantive discussions with people like President Karzai or Prime Minister Maliki or President Sarkozy or others who I expect to be dealing with over the next eight to 10 years.
“And it’s important for me to have a relationship with them early, that I start listening to them now, getting a sense of what their interests and concerns are.” Source Scared Monkeys

Speaking about the need to “Clean up our Water”, Barack made this solemn pledge to the people of Oregon:
[H]e will continue his leadership in protecting national treasures like the Great Lakes from threats such as industrial pollution, water diversion, and invasive species.

In Oregon, Obama pleaded ignorance of the decades-old, multi-billion-dollar massive Hanford nuclear waste clean-up:
“Here’s something that you will rarely hear from a politician, and that is that I’m not familiar with the Hanford, uuuuhh, site, so I don’t know exactly what’s going on there. (Applause.) Now, having said that, I promise you I’ll learn about it by the time I leave here on the ride back to the airport.”
I assume on that ride, a staffer reminded him that he’s voted on at least one defense authorization bill that addressed the “costs, schedules, and technical issues” dealing with the nation’s most contaminated nuclear waste site Source Michelle Malkin

Explaining why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois? Source Michelle Malkin

What we can learn about Obama from this mind-numbing list of gaffes?
This series of gaffes by Obama that raise serious questions about his ability to compete at a high political level. The lack of common sense suggested by his gullibility in regard to the Greensburg tornado can perhaps be chalked up to lack of experience; but that's the point Source John Hinderaker Powerline.

raves +4 Jul 28, 2008 03:06AM GMTHi Wayne, yes I agree w/ you. I feel like McCain has stepped up his criticism of Obama in the last few days. But w/ the MSM just showing Obama on his "world citizen" tour McCain has been trying to keep the spotlight on himself but the MSM isn't helping. Not to mention they seem to always show when McCain makes a mistake but not when Obama does. It makes me so irritated.
I can't wait for the debates because there will not be a teleprompter for Obama to read off of and he tends to get into trouble when he speaks w/out one. Whereas I think McCain's strength is answering questions and speaking from the heart.
You know everyone makes mistakes while speaking, that is normal, but my main problem is that the Obama people won't even admit that, but they are quick to point out McCain's. When Obama does it there is a reason or excuse but when McCain does it, it is because he is older. I just think it is shameful for people to treat older people that way. Some things are just not funny and go over the line.
Thank you once again Wayne for your thoughtful answers.

raves +5 Jul 28, 2008 02:15AM GMTI get so furious when they make light of Alzheimer's and Senile Dementia. They are very real and affect so many people. Statistically speaking, by now it is most likely at McCain's age that there would already be some symptoms, screening is easy and I am sure he this was addressed during his physical. Apparently none of the Obama supporters have any elderly parents, grandparents or loved ones since they find a common and real occurance of aging so amusing. When anyone has a lack of respect for our elders it speaks volumes to me.
