False Hope...
I wrote this when I was feeling really abandoned...lol.
I'm not like that now, though...
Here you are =)

A small little girl waits for her mother to return, clinging on to the
old and weathered-down teddy bear she was given for her third birthday.
She hears the voice of her mother ringing in her ears: 'Stay here and wait for me. Don't move.'
So she doesn't.
The helpless girl stays, as the town becomes deserted.
She
waits for her mother as time spirals forward, with seconds turning into
hours, hours turning into days, days turning into weeks, and weeks
turning into months, sending her into the winter season.
And the
little girl waits for her mother to return, struggling to hold on to
the last bit of warmth the clothes can provide. She is too scared to
move, fearful that her mother will return to see her gone.
So she stays. She waits. She does not move.
But she sleeps and sleeps inside the abandoned home that was once filled with life and light. Her only sanctuary.
But everything has lost its color, layered with dust. The rats have now taken over the house, as well as the town.
Regardless,
she waits and she sleeps. She remains to be the one candle still alive,
giving off life in that town, though the light dims further with each
passing second.
And eventually, the dim candle fades, disappearing into nothing.
I'm not like that now, though...
