Will Media Report Concert Before Obama's Berlin Speech?
By Noel Sheppard - July 24, 2008 - 13:38 ET
Remember back in May when media gushed and fawned over a huge crowd in Portland, Oregon -- supposedly gathered to hear the words of Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama -- but chose not to report the free concert given before his speech?
Well, it has been learned that before the presumptive Democrat nominee spoke to a crowd in Berlin Thursday, two popular German acts -- reggae artist Patrice and rock band Reamonn -- entertained the gathering audience.
Will media report this tonight, or just gush and fawn over the huge crowd again?
While you ponder, here's what was reported by Spiegel Online moments ago (h/t Hot Air and Gateway):
++ Pop Concert for Obama Fans ++
6:33 p.m.: The tens of thousands of Obama fans are being entertained as they await the senator. The reggae musician Patrice kicked things off, followed by the rock band Reamonn.
I'm sure this will be part of ALL media reports concerning this speech...not!

Berlin Crowds Entertained by Reggae & Rock Bands Before Barry’s Speech
By: admin0
The same thing that happened in Oregon with the large crowds has again been responsible for the large turnout reporting to turn out for Barry’s Berlin speech.
Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters reports two popular German acts — reggae artist Patrice and rock band Reamonn — entertained the audience for a free concert. Again this was not reported in the MSM - [Main Screaming Media].
However, one thing that was reported in the press was that Barry had no time to visit the injured Vets in the Rammstein and Landstuhl US military bases in Germany.
He did however, have time to take in the sites during his first trip to Berlin and, of course, make some photo-ops. And go for a work-out at the Ritz-Carlton.

I had a conversation about this "band" topic on one of Tresor's posts yesterday. I was surprised to find out some people did not know about the free popular local bands that guarantee Obama crowds at many of his speeches. I was asked to prove it! On top of that there are also food and drink concessions (not free) and porta toilets. As there are not many free things to do anymore especially for the young and families on a budget it's amusing that Obama and his media is taking credit for all who are there. -
raves +5 posted Jul 25, 2008 07:48PM GMTThat is so decieving! I heard Dave Matthews band perfomed nearby bringing people to another one a few months back, too. Way to mislead!

raves +4 posted Jul 25, 2008 07:40PM GMTOMG I had not heard this - will the press stoop to any new lows to get this creep elected. Unbelievable.

raves +3 posted Jul 25, 2008 06:50PM GMTThe only reason I found out about the concert in Oregon is because FOX network reported it. That is one of the reasons that Barack Obama drew such a big crowd. It is so obvious that they were not all there to see BO. The media more then likely will not report all the facts about his speech in Germany either. The media is in love with Obama.

raves +1 posted Jul 25, 2008 05:51PM GMTOf course, it was well known prior to the speech. Can't you hit us with something better than this?
-
raves +2 Jul 25, 2008 06:22PM GMTI don't think so...desperation is setting in big time!

raves +3 posted Jul 25, 2008 04:05PM GMTI watched the news all day and saw it live...was certainly no secret. It was reported over and over again.
And I can just imagine what the whiner McCain would have to say if Obama did visit the injured Vets at the military bases in Germany. Damned if you do,...damned if you don't. -
raves +3 Jul 25, 2008 06:30PM GMTThey didn't want it to turn into more photo-ops. What... he couldn't leave the press behind long enough to visit them?
-
raves +2 Jul 25, 2008 06:38PM GMTI don't know why he didn't visit...I heard he was asked not to. But the field day McCain is having criticizing and whining about every step of Obama's trip...surely a visit to the vets would bring even more criticism...since McCain thinks he has a monopoly on the war and military.

raves +2 Jul 25, 2008 07:02PM GMTI am not easily conned. Obama is not my first choice..or even second...but McCain is my last choice....or actually not even an option for anyone who cares about what happens to the counrty....women's rights... the economy....or the environment. Everyone can't be so wrong about Obama....including Hillary, John Edwards, and Al Gore....not to mention Bob Dylan. Why are you so stubborn? Do you actually want John McCain as the next POTUS?
-
raves +3 Jul 25, 2008 07:46PM GMTYES - anyone will be better than Obama, my dog or my cat, or the bum on a corner - anyone. At least we know McCain is a loyal American, loves the country and will do all he can to make her better. We have no such delusions about Obama.
So you are voting for Obama because Bob Dylan, Al Gore and John Edwards have endorsed him - no con there LOLOL I left out Sen Clinton because I would bet real money that neither she or Pres Clinton will vote for him ever. They are forced to endorse the creep or the long knives will come for her like they did Liebermann. He is a disgusting human and not fit for POTUS or dog catcher -
raves +3 Jul 25, 2008 08:07PM GMTExactly. I could not have said it better!!!!!
-
raves Jul 25, 2008 09:34PM GMTNo...I am voting for Obama because McCain will be devastating! But it helps to now that other people I respect are voting for Obama too. And as for Bill and Hillary...they would never vote for McCain. It is probably the reason they are behind Obama...not because they think he's the best choice...just the only choice with McCain running.

raves +5 posted Jul 25, 2008 02:25PM GMTIt won't be reported becuse it doesn't fit the picture they are trying to paint. The picture that the world is behind him. How anyone can believe that 10,000 non-english speaking people would show up to see a presidential candidate from another country give a speech in English is laughable. The kool-aid is flowing like a river.
-
raves +5 Jul 25, 2008 03:13PM GMTIT WASNT 10,000 PEOPLE.. it was 200,000 people.. but you must realize..for Berlin that is very small.. Berlin has 4 million people.. this was held in Tiergarten and the area can hold many more people..

raves +5 Jul 25, 2008 05:54PM GMTHa. I meant to type 100,000. Either way he is wagging the dog on this entire campaign.

raves +5 posted Jul 25, 2008 02:09PM GMTHi Heart.. this sleeze bag.. he can never just be up front.. never be direct and honest.. always sneaky and of course act on behalf of ... who?? well Barack Hussein Obama of course.. this is dispicable that he slighted the vets but had time for a work out..
this whole thing is nothing more than a photo op and Obamarama bullshit.. no one invited him anywhere..he just went and made it appear that these huge crowds were there only for him.. just like in Oregon.. how phoney..what a pretense..but then that is Obamarama.
