About Me
I'm a scientologist and tripped over sodahead quite by accident. I was amazed to read about all the misconceptions about scientology. I just wanted to clear up the misconceptions based on my personal experience.
I'm a happily married woman, a mother of 2, a professional in the legal field, and have a masters degree in business. I have friends and family from all walks of life, all religions, different beliefs, and they respect me and I respect them. I've been working for the same law firm for over 11 years now. I'm the only Scientologist at the firm, and most of them are avid Christians. We respect eachother.
It saddens me to see people out there bashing others because of their beliefs. I hope that I can get some truth out there -- not with the purpose of "converting" anyone - but purely with the purpose of clearing up any untruths out there on Scientology.
My son, by the way, 21 now, is also a Scientologist. He's also an Eagle Scout, and volunteered in Louisiana following Hurricanre Katrina. My daughter, 18, is also a Scientologist and is active in "Youth for Human Rights", "Say No To Drugs"
You can find out more at the following sites: www.scientology.org, www.whatisscientology.org, and http://www.bonafidescientolog...
Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
PEACE! Angel

That Guy in the Glass
(by Dale Wimbrow – 1934)
When you get what you want in your struggle for self
and the world makes you king for a day,
then go to the mirror and look at yourself
and see what that guy has to say.
For it isn't your mother, brother or friends
whose judgment you must pass.
the person whose verdict counts most in your life
is the one staring back in the glass.
You can go down the pathway of years
receiving pats on the back as you pass,
but your final reward will be the heartaches and tears
if you cheated that guy in the glass.

or www.whatisscientology.org.
Scientology is a religious philosophy developed in the 1950s by L. Ron Hubbard. Scientology promotes that you are a spiritual being. Practicing Scientology is much like attending a university. You take classes that address whatever area in your life you wish to improve – How to have a successful marriage, be a successful parent, how to achieve your goals, how to handle ups & downs in life, as well as more technical courses that trains individuals to be a Scientology counselor (called “auditor”). People can also receive one-on-one counseling (called “auditing”). The entire goal of the counseling and courses is to arm people with tools that you can apply in your life that will improve conditions across the board & to bring you greater awareness of yourself as a spiritual being. (That is why is is called an "applied" religious philisophy - because you apply it to the real world). Also, Scientology does not ask that you believe it on 'faith'. You are asked to take the information and apply it in your life - and if it works for you then you will know it is true.
Scientology is a bonafide religion. In On 10/1/93, the IRS completed a 40 yr investigation (the longest of any one organization in history) and determined that
1. The religion of Scientology is a bona fide religion;
2. These churches of Scientology and their related organizations are operated exclusively for recognized religious purposes;
3. These churches and their related institutions benefit the public, not private interests.
4. No part of the net earnings of these churches inures for the benefit of any individual or noncharitable entity.
Most people also don’t know the scope of the efforts of Scientologists to build a better world. Throughout the last decade, the Church has taken actions to promote the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Youth for Human Rights International is an independent non-profit group & have been around the world 3 times to promote human rights reform. The Church forms alliances with human rights groups, publicizes the intolerance, contacts members of parliament known to have strong pro-democracy views and to be defenders of religious freedom and human rights, and conducts campaigns to popularize democracy and human rights.
There are volunteers who go to places following disasters to assist - such as 911, the tsunamis, and after Hurrican Katrina. My son at 17 (a Scientologist & Eagle Scout) went to Louisianna to volunteer along with hundreds of others.
There are Scientology environmental task forces, free tutoring centers, groups educating the public on the harmful effects of drugs, and much, much more.
I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions, you can also email me privately and I’ll be happy to answer.
Respectfully

In addition, I've been to all of the anti-scientology polls and there is so much information here on what Scientology is NOT. There is so much misinformation and so much misunderstanding. The ads give you information on what Scientology IS. In that way - it balances things out. (more) -

I dont' agree that "it's cruel to bring a child into the world with a blue or pink stamp". "Cruel" is the wrong word. On one level, I can see where they are coming from -- but when that child starts school he/she better know or he/she will be ridiculed. Subjecting the child to that ridicule would be "cruel". (more)

Perhaps, before you author a poll you should first do your homework. It is a fact that the Trvolta's sought medical attention for their son and he had been on seizure meds, but they didn't work. Let me clear up some additional misconceptions:
Scientologists absolutely see doctors and use medications to treat physical disorders. I am a Scientologist and a mother. I am on blood pressure medications to treat my high blood pressure. My friend, a Scientologist, is using meds to handle asthma, and another person I know is on medication for epilepsy. When my son was born he had a kidney problem that required surgery. My son had surgery and of course, whatever medication was required at that time. There is absolutely NOTHING in the Scientology teachings that forbids the use of medication to treat physical disorders

+3 raves Again - a question that can't be answered "yes" or "no". I'm not sur... Again - a question that can't be answered "yes" or "no". I'm not sure that people necessarily feel a "need" to believe". Some people have had personal experiences that can't be explained in material universe terms. It is very real to them. Every religion has beliefs that defy modern scientific thinking. It is inconsistent with physics & biology & can't be debated on those terms. For someone like yourself who may not have had those experiences, understanding religion or a belief in the intangible, seems "strange". I'm not meaning at all to be condescending to you, Irishnurse, but its something that you experience & know to be true, or you don't. Again - I'm not insinuating that you are any lesser for not believing. That is NOT my intent. I'm just trying to explain that there are differences here that cannot be debated or explained away easily.
Personally, I believe that I am a spiritual being, housed in a physical body. I am, though, not my body. There is no way I can explain that to someone who hasn't had that same experience. (more) -

"ANONYMOUS": You are quite the liar, aren't you: On other polls you claim to be "moral" & here you have been exposed -- commenting on this one which describes who you really are: " not subject to law", "holds nothing sacred", ""devoid of humanity, morality, ”!
NOTHING you say is credible. YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED! You are the butt of jokes all over these polls. You better hide behind your masks, I'd also be embarrased to show my face if I was you! (LOL)
EVIDENCE THAT ANONYMOUS IS A TERRORIST GROUP:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?...
AND MORE EVIDENCE:
“Anonymous -- Religious Hate Crimes
and Terrorism directed at Church of Scientology.
Anonymous: Since January 17, 2008, "Anonymous," a group of cyber-terrorists hiding their identities behind masks and computer anonymity, has targeted the Scientology religion, its Churches, leaders and parishioners with hate speech and hate crimes.
To inform "Anonymous" members who may be unaware of the criminal acts committed by their leaders, and to prevent others from being misled by "Anonymous" propaganda, this video has been produced to provide the facts. The video reveals "Anonymous" repeated incitements to hate and violence.
The Church has not interacted with these "Anonymous" individuals nor does it desire to. However, death threats and threats to plant nitroglycerin bombs in Churches have made it necessary to take security precautions and identify members of this group responsible for these crimes. “
For quite some time I have been reporting to you about the hate-group: ANONYMOUS & how dangerous they are. These anti-religious polls have created a platform for this Nazi-type group to post threatening, offensive, vindictive comments. I pointed out to you that they describe themselves on their own polls as "not subject to law", "holds nothing sacred", "devoid of humanity" & “are not moral”!
A number of SodaHeads have identified themselves as being members of "Anonymous" and have authored some of the anti-Scientology polls: "KINGOFGEEKS", "REGULUS", "LEGION555", "KILLA", "DEREK", "ANONYMOUS", & "ANON DELIVERS"& "ANON TROOPER"
Other Soda Heads such as “TWEETZ” & “MYNDBENDER” may be part of this group,((they certainly forward their message, as well as quote from other Anonymous members like “Tory Christman.” (I know for a fact that Tory Christian is part of “ANONYMOUS as I know her personally & I’ve seen her picketing with the group) Every single thing that these guys post is not credible -- the videos are all doctored, the documents are falsified, & all the links are links that they have authored)
I’d like to point out some interesting correlations between the “Anonymous” on the video, & the actions of the group on these polls: After I exposed “KILLA” as part of the “Anonymous” clan, & after I quoted from their poll how they promote themselves to be above the law, etc., “KILLA” tried to deny any intent to harm. Isn’t it interesting that on the video they discuss that how the group changed its tactics, promoting themselves to be peaceful for public relations purposes – which is precisely what “KILLA” did, obviously after having received orders from those in charge.
I will also attest to you that the reports on the video of the “anthrax” scare are very real. My friend’s son works at one of the missions, when the envelope of white powder was received & the entire block was closed off by the authorities.
You will also note that the words the group uses on the video, their vow to “dismantle scientology in its present form”, as one example, etc is precisely the verbage they use on these polls to describe themselves.
I have always been willing to answer questions about Scientology by those on these polls who have been respectful. I have done so in many of my postings. I will not engage in any conversation, however, with any of these haters, or anyone who promotes their message. If anyone has sincere questions, please send me a private e mail.
Please support me by expressing your outrage to Soda Head. Demand that these polls be deleted & that the membership of the Anonymous clan be terminated. Don’t engage in conversation with them, don’t visit their polls – BOYCOTT them & let them know that you do not support them in their efforts to use these polls as a medium to expound their hatred and intolerance.
Lets keep Soda Head a safe haven for all of us, from all walks of life, to come & freely express our viewpoints in a civilized manner. Thank you for your support & your friendship. Angel (more)

Well I am just glad that I changed before I really hurt someone. I have been known for my sharp tongue. I guess it just really hit me last night, ya know? I mean I spend so much time getting upset when people make fun of my beliefs, but I don't realize that I tend to do the same thing.
And I would like to tell you what a wonderful son you have for doing so many wonderful things for people. :)
