About Me

So this is me... The name's Stephany. I come from Colombia, South America, where I lived a wonderful 14 years. I speak fluent Spanish and better than good English, though there's always room for improvement. My personal style is not defined by a certain trend. One day I might wear all black and red "gothicky" clothes, and a more girly tight-jeans-tight-shirt outfit the next. I don't label myself, as cliche as that sounds by now. I do, however, believe that in today's society if you don't fit into a stereotype, you're considered a poser. So maybe I am a poser. I smoke from time to time when I find myself under emotional distress. I drink, but never enough to black out. I love music. My favorite genre is Rock and most of its derivatives, but I'm pretty fond of all music genres; I straddle the fence as far as country goes though. I like to read books, watch TV, and just BS on the internet whenever I don't feel like doing anything productive. I graduated from Kenwood High School in 2007 and began attending ETSU in the fall of 2008. I am a bum at the moment, but actively looking for a job. I live with my boyfriend. I try not to be judgemental when it comes to meeting new people. I am, however, shy at first, and for some reason some people seem to get that confused with snobbishness. It takes a fair amount of time for me to open up to others. Not everyone I've met has really taken the time to get to know me well, but the very few people that have sure haven't regretted it yet. I get along with guys better than I do with girls. I've done things in the past that I'm not proud of, as I'm sure you have. I have changed a lot though, for myself and not anyone else. I am not religious. I don't believe in love at first sight. I don't deal well with separation. I have done my share of volunteer work. I can be very random at times. The gutter is my mind's second home. I am still under construction. If after reading this mess there's still something you'd like to ask about me, feel free to do so. =]

Interests

Well the thing I love most next to my other half is music. It never lets me down. I like hundreds of bands/performers even though I might not know everything about them. As opposed to what some believe, you don't necessarily have to know each member intimately to say you like the music the band as a whole makes. Some of the many are, starting with my favorite of all time, Linkin Park, Seether, Stabbing Westward, Econoline Crush, Adema (Marky Chavez era), Rammstein, Charon, Korn, Orgy, Three Days Grace, Duran Duran, Fingertight, Nickelback, Slipknot, The Birthday Massacre, Zeromancer, Barry White, Jamiroquai, I, Parasite, Chevelle, Everything but the Girl, MDFMK, Limp Bizkit, Kylie Minogue... it's a long, unfinished list.
I also enjoy movies. My favorite genre is horror, but I'll watch almost anything with a good storyline. My favorite movies include Session 9, Audition, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Grandma's Boy, American Beauty, Hellraiser I-VIII, Secretary, Donnie Darko, The Machinist, Pulse, May, Little Children, 8mm... this is also a long, unfinished list.
I like to read books too from time to time. Some of the best I've come across are Man and Boy, Playing Away, The Long Way Home... not as long a list but still unfinished. I don't watch a lot of regular TV but when I do I opt for shows such as Made, America's Next Top Model, CSI, Snapped, Family Guy, Friends, That 70s Show, Sex and the City, Ghost Hunters... and so on.
