Mormons throw support to gay-rights?! Sounds strange right? Well ...

It looked like a stunning reversal: the same church that helped defeat gay marriage in California standing with gay-rights activists on an anti-discrimination law in its own backyard. On Tuesday night, after a series of clandestine meetings between local gay-rights backers and Mormons in Salt Lake City, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced it would support proposed city laws that would prohibit discrimination against gays in housing and employment. The ordinances passed and history was made: It marked the first time the Salt Lake City-based church had supported gay-rights legislation. The Mormon church — which continues to suffer a backlash over its support last year of Proposition 8, the measure banning gay marriage in California — emphasized that its latest position in no way contradicts its teachings on homosexuality.

But the action is one of the strongest signs yet that even conservative religious groups that oppose same-sex marriage might be willing to support legal protections for gays that fall short of that.

These two burglars were nabbed because their getaway car matched the ID that the witnesses reported to the police. What you will notice is how ridiculous the two robbers look and probably would've been nabbed for looking stupid. The suspects put PERMANENT marker on their faces.

LG Watch Phone - Get Smart?

This gadget is too big to be a watch and way too small to be a cell phone. But, the GD910 actually is both. This thing looks like it belongs in a 007 or Get Smart episode. It has a clear touchscreen so it seems to be a pretty good comparison. However, it does NOT look comfortable. Who would want to wear this thing around? It looks gaudy and heavy. What do you think of it?

Russian Police Badge Fail

This Russian robber was going around mugging folks on the street. Then he thought he got lucky when he stole a bag that contained a real Russian police badge. So he edited in his photo. The problem was it was a female officer's badge and even though it's obvious he cut it in poorly. He also left the feminine tie in the photo. So Police Badge FAIL!

So Twitter decided to fix their replying system today. "We've updated the Notices section of Settings to better reflect how folks are using Twitter regarding replies. Based on usage patterns and feedback, we've learned most people want to see when someone they follow replies to another person they follow—it's a good way to stay in the loop. However, receiving one-sided fragments via replies sent to folks you don't follow in your timeline is undesirable. Today's update removes this undesirable and confusing option. The Importance of Discovery Spotting new folks in tweets is an interesting way to check out new profiles and find new people to follow. Despite this update, you'll still see mentions or references linking to people you don't follow. For example, you'll continue to see, "Ev meeting with @biz about work stuff" even if you don't follow @biz. We'll be introducing better ways to discover and follow interesting accounts as we release more features in this space. " Small Settings Update And it has been horrible. How are we supposed to socially network and what will happen to #followfridays? I think this is just a misguided move to save their costs on servers. It looks like Twitter didn't plan for people to follow in such great numbers; apparently, they neglected to look at MySpace. This will be really frustrating if they don't bow down like facebook did and listen to their userbase. This evening most twitterers are bitter. I wonder if any will leave if Twitter doesn't listen?
