About Me

I am a mother of 2 grown daughters, one married, one in school. My husband is employed full time for the National Guard, and is presently in Iraq. I recently purchased my first motorcycle, Harley Davidson Sportster 1200L. I have already had an accident and my most embarrassing moment all at the same time. I now recover from my injuries while they fix my bike. I stayed home with my kids for 18 years, worked in a Psych office for 7 years, "retired", then got a great job for fun at a gourmet kitchen shop...I love to cook and love good cookware and accessories!

Working part time, SH, having fun with my grown kids (they include me a lot), talking to my hubby when I can, gardening in summer, shoveling in winter.

My wonderful family who takes care of me in this time of need. Motorcycles and riding, quilting, beading, doll making, reading, teaching, working. music, music, music, and SODAHEAD!

My husband plays guitar and has a band called, The Opposable Thumbs. They play some of Dave's music, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, John Prine, The Who, Nancy Griffith, Stan Rogers, Uncle Chuck, and many more. Music is good. I guess I also like the "oldies" station, which plays music from my teen years so I'm an "oldie" too. Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk, Stevie Wonder, Natalie King-Cole (early), The Beatles, Yes, Eagles, Cat Stevens, Moody Blues, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne, Steely Dan, Deep Purple, Jim Croce :( Billy Joel, Doobie Brothers, CSNY, David Bowie, Deep Purple, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, ELO, Queen, Edgar Winter, Lynyrd Skynyrd. I could go on and on and on and then start on the contemporary Christian artists (mostly rock or punk). Don't get me started!

    Can't leave sticks of butter on our counter because somehow, he would get it

    Peed on my husband's bag after he came home from a trip, staring at my husband the whole time.

    He could Beg, Speak, Lay down, Sit, Stay, Shake, Shake the other paw, Roll over, Low crawl, Shake like Bob Dole (no offense to anyone), play dead, "Bang" (he'd drop to the ground but his tail would wag. Then we'd say "dead dogs don't move" and he's stop wagging his tail), balance food on his nose until we told him "ok" and then snatch it. We took a slow mo video once and his ears went one way and his nose the other (we once convinced a friend that he could count because Rex would anticipate the ok by the shape of your lips)

    Knew sign language for down, sit, stay, roll over

    He was my oldest daughter's best best best best friend. He listened to her from 4 years to 17 years old. He passed right before her senior pictures at the age of 13. Rex was a wonderful part of our family.     (more)
