About Me

I cannot be classified or put into a box. I would like to see peace among all people, but I am a realist. I understand that we will not all agree, but want people to learn to disagree in a civil way and still try to understand others' views. Sometimes we have to try to understand others' experiences in a new light even though they differ from our own.

My husband and I married in Eisenhower Chapel at Penn State University on July 4, 1974. He served in the US Navy for 20 years while I raised our two children and volunteered to help military families. We love this country and appreciate everyone who works to uphold our Constitution. It is our only protection from those who would destroy our nation.

Bible Study Fellowship - an amazing life changing experience.
Reading, writing, gardening, cross-stitch, walking the dogs every morning.

Public policy-making and community inspired and motivated problem-solving.
Protecting the US Constitution and making this the best place to live on Earth.

Think 60s, 70s, 80s, but exclude rap, punk, disco... I like my senses to remain in tact without suffering assault by turned up bass or monotonous repetition.
Also like opera and operetta as my parents performed in many and my dad played in a community symphony orchestra.

Pushing Daisies (too bad it's gone), American Idol (after it gets down to 10), Dancing with the Stars, Stargate Atlantis, The 4400

Amistad

Besides The Holy Bible (which I thought I would treat as a study of any other piece of literature and found out how much more it really is...), I will have to think about which others to include, but basically, I prefer non-fiction.

"We, the people, are the boss, and we will get the kind of political leadership, be it good or bad, that we demand and deserve." John F. Kennedy, Profiles in Courage (1955)

That is a tough one...

Now it's time to make appointments to meet with them either in their home offices or DC with pink slips in hand! That goes also for the Congressmen of both genders! Take one or two with you and sign them up for the same appointments. Each one with a pink slip to deliver! It's easy and no march required! But do it soon! (more)

I only take small exception to the notion that it is fear of CAIR that caused the lack of action in this case. I blame the political powers that oversee the military for the politically correct diversity casualties that have occurred - meaning "terrorist murders." Everyone feared they would be forced out of service to their country if they took action. The politicians in this country have set us all up to be intimidated by threats of loss of job and even punishment for supposed "hate" crimes. CAIR is using the PC world against us, essentially robbing us of the very good sense we instinctively have when it comes to Islamic radicalism. (more)

I knew that trouble-makers were going into townhall meetings when my husband and I went to ours. The only trouble-makers there happened to be seated in front of us. One of them turned around and nearly crawled over the back of his seat, his finger in my face, trying to get a rise out of us. I insisted that he turn around and leave me alone. When my husband addressed him, he said, "To on HIT ME!" There are animals for hire out there. Be prepared to deal with them without getting into a fight. Much harder than you might think! But the bullies cannot be allowed to win!

I've known women in their 30s and 40s who have battled aggressive breast cancer. Also, about half who are diagnosed had no family member with the disease. So much for catching cancer early. I guess the minute you reach 40, if you are female, your worth is negligible, according to our benevolent federal government!

It's a great reminder that we owe an ongoing debt to service members throughout history as well as each new day. They perform perhaps the most difficult jobs that exists for mankind - keeping watch over our freedom! We also must do our part at home so they will not be disappointed when they return home! (more)
